Bush: "This is a very serious investigation"
this might be the first thing I've heard him say that is actually true...

Bush: CIA leak probe 'very serious'

Monday, October 24, 2005; Posted: 5:17 p.m. EDT (21:17 GMT)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- President Bush said Monday the investigation into the outing of a covert CIA operative was "very serious," even as Republican allies started casting aspersions on the prosecutor and the possibility of perjury charges.

After a Cabinet meeting, Bush was asked whether he agreed with Republican suggestions that Fitzgerald may be overzealous and that possible perjury charges would be little more than legal technicalities.

"This is a very serious investigation," Bush said. Rove sat behind the president in the Cabinet room; across the room sat Libby.

2. Very serious indeed. You're about to see your

presidency sliced to shreds by an able prosecutor, Mr. Bush.

The historians will use his notes and not your absurd, repetitive cliches about "smoking out" Osama and "freedom on the march" in the Middle East, etc.

The media you have manipulated so long is already turning on you. Better late than never on that one, but you have still MISUNDERESTIMATED the power of a free press when it is truly free and not puppeteered by you and your shitty little advisor Karl Rove.

Multiple indictments.

Failed presidency.

Congratulations.

3. You know what I love about this?
Edited on Mon Oct-24-05 11:54 PM by Marr
Back when they assumed Ashcroft or some other neocon crony was just going to whitewash the whole thing, they blew it off. Lots of flat denials and quotes like Bush's 'we may never find out who the leaker is'.

I just love the fact that the one time the system actually WORKED during this administration, it fucked them hard. It really speaks to the sheer *amount* of corruption in this government. It's staggering.

4. Does this make anyone else concerned HE said this?
Everyday is opposite day with these people.

Either we have witnessed a miracle and George Bush is actually NOT lying, or he knows its in the bag with no accountability.
