10. Suggestions have been made to the admins to do something

when all the big forums get overloaded by one issue and the servers go haywire. Remember Schiavo, Laci et al?

The Administrators have chosen to realign GD when and if there are indictments as they expect a high volume of traffic.

It should make things easier not only for DU members, but also for the moderators and the Administrators.

20. There used to be only one general discussion forum

IIRC, the GD:Politics forum was created to handle excess traffic during the primaries. With this plan, it's like we are going back to one General Discussion forum, with an extra forum dedicated to the leak case. That makes sense.

I was going to edit the post so that GD: Politics didn't turn into the tongue smilie, but then I decided it was probably appropriate! :P
