"non-specific, non-credible" bomb threat in California
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A "non-specific, non-credible" bomb threat has delayed flights at the Long Beach Airport in California, and a separate bomb threat at Orange County airport has been resolved, security officials said on Tuesday.

Both airports are in southern California.

At Long Beach, "they are treating it as a non-specific, non-credible threat at the moment ... although the airport is being swept by canines," a spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security said.

Officials could not give any additional details on the nature of the bomb threats.

3. Isn't it time that someone arrests the whole lot of them for
creating a disturbance? It's law in a lot of states, if not all of them, right?

4. Do you think Governor Turdinator will be offended?
California is his turf. Maybe someone is sending him a message to get in line.

Who knows. It's probably truly an anonymous disgruntled person, or maybe somebody with an ax to grind against airlines.

5. So why are they reporting it?
Non-credible = hoax. Yet they still close down an airport & hype it on CNN, right on cue.

KNX-LA News Radio in interviewing the spokesperson for the Long Beach...

Police Dept. Nancy Pratt.

She is saying it was a phoned-in bomb threat at 3 a.m. PST this morning.

Using bomb dogs. Airpot closed through 7 a.m. Not found any devices whatsoever.

Hmmmmm.

KNX-LA is at http://www.knx1070.com/

If you wish to listen live you can, but the site forces a registration.

KNX reported that Reuters says that Homeland Security Dept. is monitoring...DHS tells Reuters that John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California also had a phoned-in bomb threat.

Cannot find a coroborating link via Reuters at this time. (6:52 a.m. PST) However, a Delta 1778 departing from John Wayne at 7:45A is showing at the airport's web site now as still "On-Time."

Double Hmmmm.

NX-LA confirms that there were two bomb threats: Long Beach and John Wayne airports.

John Wayne was cleared and vetted earlier this morning, so it will open this morning on-time. John Wayne Airport spokesperson Jenny Webb said they recieved a call early this morning of a "non-specific nature." They've given the all-clear.

Long Beach is closed (with the exception of 2 planes coming in now...but will be held in security.) Long Beach is wrapping up their sweep of their airport, with a short hold (probably until sometime around 8:00 a.m. PST.)

Trifecta-Hmmmm.
