Poll question: Will Congress begin investigations into Plame
to get to the bottom of these two important questions:
1) What did the VP know and when did he know it?
2) What did the Chimp know and when did he know it?

During Watergate it was the congressional investigations more than anything which led to exposing Nixon's role in Watergate. But the Democrats held the congress at the time. Will the Republican leadership allow investigations of this kind? or do we need to wait until after 2006 when the Dems might win back the congress?

1. The top pukes are all headed to jail.
The next layer down can no longer afford to put up with Chimpy's antics. They will be forced to impeach and remove him by August 2006.

3. "Forced"? Don't hold your breath
Unless and until the Dems retake the majority of the House of Representatives, Dear Leader and his band of Merry Hoodlums will not be impeached. That would presuppose the Repugs would do the right thing. Ain't gonna happen, Cap'n.

7. I dunno...
Even a lot of right-wingers are becoming upset at the current Administration. Admittedly, not over this particular situation, but they are starting to disagree with the Administration a great deal more (and more openly) than I've ever known them to do.

We can hope, can't we?

2. IMPEACH BUSH
We can call our senators & demand they start Impeachment proceedings
Bush has lied to the American people
and must be brought up on charges.
This is a definingg moment of American politics
IMPEACH BUSH

if we start to call- we will get our voices heard
WE MUST CALL for an IMPEACHMENT

Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction

4. Well
They will probably argue that while there is an ongoing investigation in the court system they don't really need to do anything. I could see it happening if we are in a stronger position after the election; but probably not before then.

5. If dems play their cards right...
Edited on Tue Oct-25-05 12:25 PM by Peachhead22
...the congressional 'Pubs may not have much of a choice in the matter. "Coverup" in never a word you want to used against you in your opponents' campaign ad.

It doesn't help * that the admin is trying to work around the senate's ban on torture. Whether they're fellow 'Pubs or not. That's gotta piss some congresscritters off.

<edited for clarity>

9. Cynically yes.
If COngres "investigate" and grant;s use immunity... they wind up killing the case against Cheney if unindicted.

10. If there are indictments you can bet on it.
To facilitate a Congressional inquiry, congress would grant immunity from prosecution.

It's probably the ploy likely to be used since it would save Bush from having to grant controversial pardons.

Personally I'd hate to see a Congressional Inquiry into Plame/BJ
