Rape victim: 'Morning after' pill denied
Although it is safe, effective and legal, emergency contraception - the "morning after" pill - can be hard to find in Tucson.

After a sexual assault one recent weekend, a young Tucson woman spent three frantic days trying to obtain the drug to prevent a pregnancy, knowing that each passing day lowered the chance the drug would work.

While calling dozens of Tucson pharmacies trying to fill a prescription for emergency contraception, she found that most did not stock the drug.

When she finally did find a pharmacy with it, she said she was told the pharmacist on duty would not dispense it because of religious and moral objections.

This shit is getting out of control.

5. Leave the baby on his doorstep and see how much he supports
right to life then. He should be fired as he's not doing his job.

2. They stock it but they won't sell it?
That's off the charts bizarre. Unless they work in shifts; like the evening guy will do it, but the day time guy won't?

wierd.

3. Will that phamacist pay for her medical expenses
and adopt any child that is born because of this rape? (Remember, that people like this think that rape victims should be PROUD to carry the DNA of a rapist to term-their agenda, I feel, is to put down women to the extent that they have no rights-and rape will be used as a form of punishment, as it has been used in Pakistan).

6. Sample letter to corporate headquarters
I just sent this letter to both CVS and Walmart. Just an idea:

Dear CVS,
I am currently looking for a new pharmacy and hope to find one that is both ethical and reliable. As there is a new CVS store near my home in Dallas, I will consider using it based on your answers to the following questions:

1)Do you allow individual pharmacists to refuse (for whatever reason)to fill legal prescriptions?
2) Do your stores stock the morning after pill so that rape victims, and others, can fill emergency prescriptions in a timely manner?
3) If it is your policy to limit your customers' access to legal family-planning drugs, is this policy clearly posted in store windows?

I look forward to your reply. It certainly would be convenient for me to get my prescriptions filled at CVS!
Sincerely,

7. we really need to do something NOW
Actually I needed the EC pill recently but decided not to bother due to all the steps I'd have to take just to get it. Luckily I was not pregnant. This is NOT right. The EC pill is simply a stronger dose of birth control and it does NOT cause abortions--it just helps in preventing pregnancy. You'd think Repugs would applaud something like this because it would reduce abortion and/or reduce their tax burden for "welfare services."

9. We need some mega lawsuits. Maybe class actions, if that is possible.
The pharmacies and pharmacists need to be hit where it hurts: in their retirement funds.
