Good post on HuffPo from Gary Hart.
He rips the right-wing claim that Plame only had a 'desk job' and wasn't undercover, and therefore wasn't 'outed'.

From his post:
"So, there's the crime. To casually and willfully endanger the life of an undercover CIA agent is a felony. You either believe in taking the laws of the United States seriously or you do not. Citizens - even highly placed ones - do not get to pick and choose which laws they will obey and which they will not."

1. Nice...
...line of attack.

"Citizens - even highly placed ones - do not get to pick and choose which laws they will obey and which they will not."

It reinforces the elite meme which could easily be hung around the R's necks.

2. He should have been President.
He let arrogance do him in then, but that is another story. Really good commentary. I particularly enjoyed this line:
snip>
...conservative elements in America have always proclaimed themselves more concerned than anyone else with national security, the sanctity of classified information, protection of sources, support for our intelligence and military services, and so on.

3. Good Article - the GOP spin machine is spinning out of control
- they are coming up with more & more excuses than carter has liver pills. Like little kids - the spin is

- liberal media
- clinton's crimes were bigger - heard on fox on sunday
- not really a crime
- Wilson was a plant by Dem's to spill the beans on nigeria to make bush look bad - actually heard this on cspan this morning by some caller.
- vast left-wing conspiracy
- Fitzgerald has ax to grind or has political ambitions
- etc.

4. another quote from the article
in that same vein:
It is for the CIA, not Karl Rove or Robert Novak, to determine who requires identity protection and who does not.
