Fitz recalling witnesses? |
|
Sorry, if I am posting this wrong. I am very new, but have time to check out lots of info I thought this was an interesting tidbit from Wonkette.
"Word on the rainy streets of Washington is that Patrick Fitzgerald will be recalling some witnesses soon. Conflicting word is that he will announce indictments Thursday. Whatever the case, things are ugly and it's not just the weather."

The Dominicans were the Church enforcers for a long time. Made for a great pun -- Dominicans = Domini Canis = "God's Dogs"

I stand corrected. You're right that the Inquisition was a product of the Dominicans. However, the Jesuits did take over from them in many parts of Europe, hence their fearsome reputation (for example, it was the Jesuit Inquisitor Cardinal Ballarmine who gave Galileo hell and eventually turned him over to the Dominicans to do the deed).

9. I guess we both stand corrected, then. |
|
I had always had the Jesuits pegged as just the scholars and explorers.
