Hey hey hey! We don't know anything at all. Nothing. Nada. Zip.
Two indictments? Cheney? Libby? More? Less?

We know nothing, because Fitzgerald isn't saying. This "people close to the investigation" stuff is little more than people who think they know something speaking to reporters and blogs. Fitz doesn't leak, so everything right now is merely supposition upon supposition.

We will know when we know.

NBC actually just did a very nice bit on Fitzgerald- emphasizing that he is non-partisan. He was not a rich kid for sure. He is extremely brilliant. I got the feelign they perhaps were preparing folks for the BU**SH** and lies we will likely be hearing about him soon via the 'talking poinst'.

14. Well
The Grand Jury expires on Friday, but Fitz may feel that more investigation is required. Sealing the indictments puts pressure on those responsible for re-upping his GJ, helping to ensure that if he needs more time, he will get it.

It is only a possibility.

62. As someone who has posted rawstory articles
I have also said:

subject: It's like all other things connected to this case

It is an unknown until the facts come out. So far we're all operating on assumptions based mostly on what the MSM has given us none of us know what Fitzgerald has actually found or what others assume happened. To tell you the truth I don't know what Valerie's position was or what the normal course of her duties were in that position were. Was she an advisor? Who knows. What I do believe is that there was a lot of pressure exerted on a number of offices to make the case for war. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=2178620&mesg_id=2178658

And I will repeat this sentiment and expound on it: I don't think any one of us knows exactly what Valerie's job was at the CIA or what her duties entailed. I don't think any one of us knows the parameters of Fitzgerald's investigation. I don't think any one of us knows anything for sure but I do think it is worth our time to see what is floating around out there, to acknowledge it and then to discuss it. We've all been guilty of dismissing stories out of hand that end up having a larger impact than the subsequently confirmed facts.

Why is this a good thing? Because it helps sharpen our combined skills of sorting through crap in the media, to find out which sources have higher levels of credibility on which issues and to basically participate as a community that is speculating together and educating each other on a lot of things like how GJs work, the difference between a real investigation and whatever it was that Starr did and the more we talk about it the more the media picks up on the chatter. In other words, we are helping to drive the media for once.

We're liberals. We think, we don't just accept. And sometimes we're right. I remember back when people started speculating on Libby's letter being a code for Miller. After a few short hours someone here on DU came up with the conference in Aspen, something that even the mainstream media picked up on.

Am I trying to have it both ways? Maybe, but more than anything I think all this speculating is helping us more than hurting.

57. Rove in the Lincoln bedroom
Cheney "Scootered" the Powell memo to Hadley in the Lincoln bedroom but Gannon slipped it to Rove. Bush rode through on his tricycle, snorted a line, snapped his jaw out of joint, and drifted out. Pickles saw it all and, distraught, got pickled. The butler, who was really working for Franklin, got it all on cufflink-cam. Matalin harpied the butler, but he already had what he wanted so he left with Condi, whispering conspiratorially about aspens into his other cufflink, which was Miller's cue to publish her scoop that Saddam was building neutron bombs in his cell and hiding them in his new beard. My ultimate insider super-duper double secret with Cherry Garcia on top source assures me that this will all be coming out "real soon now, guaranteed." Oh, yeah, and Fitzgerald already has all this (wink, wink), so don't waste his time emailing it to him.

27. "Some people say..."
You are correct. And inevitably, the rumors get distributed and come back around from somebody else, until the source of the rumor gets "confirmation" from another source who's just passing along fifth-hand hearsay.

If any "sources close to the investigation" are leaking this stuff, they are subject to prosecution themselves. I imagine some of these "leaks" are coming from the White House fiction department, and some are coming from the fevered imaginations of bloggers and careless journalists' unreliable sources. I doubt seriously that any are really coming from Fitzgerald's team or from the grand jurors.

Maybe it's time for everybody to take a break and focus on something else while waiting. If the indictments are coming, they'll come. If not, we've still got plenty of work to do.

Why is it that these 'moral highroaders' are always the first to lie, deceive, contrive, break-rules, and crap on convention when it suits their fancy?....And then scream and point fingers if they think anybody else goes something wrong? oooohhhh I just hate them all....god, I hope they get what's coming to them......

63. HEY! ...HEY!.....you are correct in one sense
But, you've bitten into the Repug Spin. And I always go to Ruppert when I want verification of WHY I'm so cynical.

Yet....the Oil Companies and Bush I are turning in droves against the "Screaming, Fake, Evil Spawn.

When a FATHER turns on his son...but yet wants to keep the "Empire Whole" then you get into Agatha Christie territory."

Robert Ludlum and John Le Carre's stuff might be good reads, also, for the Politics...and then there's always Graham Greene...

America's Future or Non-Future...it hangs in the balance. Are we just a "blip in Time" or something more permanent.

Sadly....I think we are a "blip." Back to the Eyptians and their dalliance with the "Sun King."

I'm VERY CYNICAL!
