David Gergen (sp) just said that this is much worse than Watergate |
|
This may be old news but he was just on the Ed Schultz show. Not sure how Gergen's name is spelled. I just found this article about what he said: http://newsbusters.org/node/2412

1. Gergen: "The wheels are coming off this administration" |
|
I think he said it last week on NewsNight or NewsHour.
And he KNOWS about stuff like this.

2. Of course it is, this is about National Security. Near treasonous. |
|
Watergate was about a break in on an opposing political party and the ensuing lies.

3. That sure wasn't the impression I got. It sounded like he was down-playing |

average folks need an interpreter when the professionals speak, I guess.

9. My impression was the same. Gergen almost poo-pooed 'Plamegate' |
|
(which was Ed Schultz's word). He brushed past it very quickly.
However, Gergen did go on to say the administration is crashing. He said bush needs to get 'fresh blood' in those admin jobs, they are burn out jobs and people need to be fresh. He also said something like, bush needs 'thoughtful' people around him, but doesn't know if that will happen.
Also, he feels sorry for Miers because she is a nice woman. He is certain she will withdraw.

6. Last week he was positive 'honest' Cheney wasn't involved |
|
Gergen does seem to have changed his tune somewhat from last week when he said he thought Cheney could not possibly be involved since he was so honest. He obviously has been not paying attention or giving a pass to the pattern of Cheney lies about many subjects including Iraq, Halliburton and having met John Edwards.

8. Yep, last week Gergen said Cheney wouldn't have been so stupid |
|
to be involved in this.
I said usually Gergen is not so naive.
Now he's finally seen the light apparently.
