Another good episode of Hardball
John Podesta has debunked a lot of Robertson's talking points on Wilson - Matthews actually agreed with him about Cheney's office sending him.

5. The "non-story" meme.......
isn't catching on. David Brooks was pushing the same meme all weekend on the talk shows and it didn't catch then either.
People DO know about it and people DO care. Spin away all you want Pat, it ain't 'gonna hold water this time.

7. And this after Pat took the opposite view earlier this week.
Honestly, they must have a chip installed in their brains that flashes a "return to program" message whenever things get uncomfortably close to the truth.

10. Ahem. As for that 24% who claim not to be interested in the story...
They're certainly interested enough to go to the trouble of seeking out the polls (usually difficult to find at CNN and MSNBC sites) and voting in them.

Not interested, my ass.

9. Katrina just beautifully non-answered a question to get her point across
Edited on Tue Oct-25-05 04:54 PM by FLDem5
Matthews is pressing her on Cheney - did he do it knowingly (push the Iraq war)

CM "we still cant' nail the VP down to deceit"

KVH "I think we know VP Cheney supressed evidence"

Mattews didn't buy her argument - no source. He said if it was sourced he would be reporting it.

14. Friz is looking for 'motivation'---Did the 'outers' have a motivation--the
answer is yes. They did not want their rational for war to evaporate.

11. Byron York babbling about how it is possible that they didn't know
anything. Discrediting Joe Wilson is just politics - "when they found out that his wife was CIA, they just threw that in"

Oh, so its all okay then.

12. These are exactly the defenses for Watergate
The break-in, of course, only opened up the whole political sabotage operation. They laid out the same defenses:

1) There is no crime (it's just politics)
2) Nobody cares except the elites on the coasts

Both these proved wrong. They never, however, had the temerity to suggest that perjury and obstruction (which was what Haldeman and Ehrlichmann were nailed on, remember) were not crimes! That's a special kinda stupid reserved for Bush era Republicans.

Fucking liar! Does he expect us to believe that he didn't have any of this info available to him ages ago? I know for a fact that I sent him info re: Plamegate. HE CHOSE NOT TO PURSUE IT!!! He's a phony. A fraud. Pure and Simple.
