Just got a call from the U.S. Navy wanting to speak to my son.
This is the second time we got a call from the military this year. After the first time, I made sure to sign the forms at his high school at the beginning of the year to prohibit them from releasing his information. But it apparently didn't make a difference. The US Navy called tonight. A young male voice was on the other end and he was laughing cheerfully like he's with the buds and he asks for my son by name. I asked him to identify himself, he says the Navy. So I reply, "I'm into the blogs and I know what's happening in this country and until it gets straightened out, my son isn't up for grabs."

And then, I hang up.

So, everyone, worry. On the eve of an indictment of the Bush Administration's staff members and they're still calling.

1. I love the way you said that..
"I'm into the blogs..and my son isn't up for grabs"!

I can't imagine a worse job right now..trying to sign people up for a deadly crap shoot based on bush lies.

3. I'm glad you told them off
They used to call here all the time and be pain in the asses. Finally my mom just told them to buzz off instead of being polite. Who gives a damn if they're in the military. They're not any better than anybody else who isn't and shouldn't be treated as such in my opinion. Those calls are just like telemarketing calls.

6. I just don't understand why they don't get a list of people who
registered Republican and call them, instead. That would be following good business practices and it might improve their closing ratio.

8. Because they know that pro-war Republicans are cowards
They know, as we do, that the people who bang the war drums the loudest are the ones LEAST likely to go and fight. So why should they waste their time?

This is the single reason why you won't ever find recruiters at a "Campus Republican Pro-War Rally". Not one of these craven little weasels would EVER put their own lives on the line. War is for America; dying is for poor people who can't afford college.

7. "My son isn't up for grabs"
Short, sweet, to the point.
