Got a PalmPilot? You can download the new Franken book. |
|
I downloaded it last night. A method and medium I've been using for years, and recommend highly.
Go to ereader.com and use "HISTORIAN" as the promo code for 15% off.
Just thought I'd share.

1. An excellent suggestion |

I'm a big fan of electronic books. No way you can beat a device that allows you to hold 50+ books in the palm of your hand.

...room for dozens of other useful applications.
What an underrated device. Wouldn't trade mine for, say, the latest iPod.

2. How is it to read from a Palm Pilot? |
|
You can't really crawl up and read from a hand-held computer, can you?

I've got Lying Liars, Dude, Where's My Country, Price of Loyalty, and a couple-dozen other books on my Palm from ereader.
You can test-drive it with some free titles they offer.

It appears easy to navigate. I just need to get used to the format. Do you have to use the pen to turn the page?

Unless you're absolutely infatuated with paper books, an e-book is actually far more convenient. You can read with one hand, for one, and it's a lot smaller than even the average paperback. Another nice feature is being able to read in bed, set it aside, and never have to bother turning off the light.

7. Do you use the ereader pro software? |
|
I've never thought of using my Palm for books before, thanks. Definitely going to try this out, it sure beats blowing money on an ipod.

I can't recall the benefits over the free reader, but I don't recall ever being disappointed in paying for it, either.
Clear as mud? :D

13. I must be wierd or something but |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-25-05 11:34 PM by walldude
I just couldn't get used to reading books on a screen. I tried a few e-books but it just didn't feel right. At least we are all reading :toast:
on edit.. maybe it's because the books I tried out were fiction. I read DU all the time and it doesn't feel wierd. Maybe there is something to be said for "curling up with a good book".
