Plamegate is a house of cards
Little did these Neocon criminals think that they would ever be caught? After all they successfully snockered the Congress and the American people, and had the media in the bag to peddle their propaganda, so what if they fucked up and outed a covert CIA agent. After all this was just a minor criminal act, compared to the many big ones they committed and had previously gotten away with.

What they didn't quite count on is the backlash from the CIA. The spooks can take alot of shit and even muzzle up under threats, but when you out one of their NOC's it means war. They weren't gonna take this one lying down. So they made damn well sure that this got bucked up to the Justice Department, and also made sure that Asscrap recused himself. Second in command, James Comey, no Bushco lackey, knew this was big and brought in the big gun - Fitzy.

The rest is a bit of speculation on my part, but I believe is plausible. Fitzy knows early on that the outing of Plame was more than hardball politics. He knows this because he is being fed alot of inside information from the CIA who know damned well what Plame and Brewster Jennings were all about. He also knows that this covert operation was getting in the way of the Neocon Cheney Cabal's efforts at arms trafficking and drug money running channeled through the Middle East. They also knew that Plame and Company were onto their phony Iraq WMD claims and were likely to expose this sham in due course. Bottom line they had to be eliminated. The best way to do this was to out Plame, blow the cover off Brewster Jennings and let everyone think it was hardball retaliation for Wilson's Op Ed piece debunking the Niger uranium sale to Iraq. How convenient - they get two for the price of one.

So where will this all lead. Again my speculation is that Fitzy knows to follow the trail of illicit money. Because it is always about greed, and money. So he goes back to the justification for the war in Iraq. Why was it so important that we take out Saddam? In doing so he falls into a nest of illegal arms dealing, drug money laundering, murder, torture, bribery, etc. The whole enchilada. He probably thought he was getting into something big, but never imagined he would run head long into the Bush-Cheney Crime Family, the granddaddy of mob operations. Yes, Fitzgerald had plenty of experience taking down major mobsters like Joseph Gambino, but this was an octopus with crime tentacles everywhere.

I don't believe that the impending indictments are anything but the second phase of a multiphase investigation that still has lots of legs. Who knows where it will lead, but I speculate when it is done, the outing of a CIA covert agent will ultimately bring down the entire house of cards and the scumbag roaches who have been hiding in it. Pray that it be so!!!!

2. I said early on when BushCo started messing with the CIA
The one thing you don't want to do is piss off your spooks. I don't think they got the picture.

3. I also pray that it be so Ugnmoose. I have thought the same thing
that they get "two for the price of one" with the outing of Plame. The underlying motive being for their own selfish crimes but knowing that it would appear as political hardball, nothing else (at least on the surface).

I love your image of the "octopus with crime tentacles everywhere." So fitting.

I read somewhere that some very high % of Intelligence officers, something like 60% have been angered by this regime and want to see them brought to justice. 30% are in bed with them and want to stay that way. 10% are too scared to take action against them.

5. The irony is they used journalists thinking they'd never be caught
By blaming the info on journalists, Rove and Libby thought they were creating a sustainable set of smoke and mirrors. Then when the smoke and mirrors got busted through, there Rove and Libby are, butt naked.

how it happened in 2003, my theory:
