1. It should stay
If anything, it's a great historical memento that should stay in the record. Look how the term has taken off -- 150k hits on google.

No worse than "flying spaghetti monster". :) No offense to you FSM believers.

3. Just push "edit this page"...
and you can edit any of it.

I've done it before, in other subjects. :)

4. I was reading a post yesterday where the author was constantly having to
fight off sabateurs on that description. And they finally did a lockdown on the description to keep the freepers from defacing it.

Guess they've decided to try an new strategy in getting rid of it?

8. It definitely should stay.
I'm just amazed that a single post from one DU'er can have that much power. It really is amazing how much power we have.

14. Please DON'T comment on the Wikipedia page
The vote on the proposal to delete the "Fitzmas" article isn't like one of these brainless polls on AOL or MSNBC where they don't really care about the result and so they allow anyone to show up and vote. DUing this vote won't work. (Fortunately, freeping this vote won't work, either.)

After a week or so, votes and associated comments will be reviewed by an admin. Because the issue is whether the article conforms to Wikipedia standards, votes from new users, who have no experience with those standards, will be ignored. Some of the more crotchety established users might actually be influenced to vote the other way if they see a whole horde of people coming on just to vote for or against deletion.

One alternative being considered is to merge the information into the article on the Plame affair: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plame_affair . If you want to do something useful, go to that article and see if any important information about the whole scandal is missing; if so, add it. You can also check it for RW editorializing that should be deleted or recast into neutral form.

The "Plame affair" article has already been heavily edited. You might do even better to pick another person or issue you know something about and edit that article, which is more likely to have room for improvement.

18. I already added my vote on the AfD page...
It looks like it'll wind up with a merge/redirect, unless the indictment day itself is something of a particular spectacle.

Oh, and yes, I'm something of a wikipedia oldbie, as I've been working on articles since 1/03, so my vote will count for something, I think. ;)
