If Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh became disgruntled... |
|
And said "Why don't you all climb to the roof of your house and fly off of it?", what would happen next?

2. Then they should be charged with murder |
|
Because it's clear that Rush and Hannity listeners believe every word their heroes spew and would do anything for them.
I think you could make a case of cultish behaviour.

It would be a test of their influence over their brain dead listeners.

7. Rush's Best Days Were In The Minority |
|
In '92, when Clinton beat Poppy, I thought that would be the end of the Rushbo style of hate radio. He'd lost his meal ticket and would sound like a whiney loser. Well he did, but he connected with a lot of other losers out there and by '94 he was riding high.
Then during the Clinton years, he was able to spin the Clenis like no one could. Find anything wrong in the country, Rushbo could find a Clinton connection. Ratings grew.
Things haven't been as easy for Rushbo in recent years. He's got a lot more competition from even more feral hate spewers and a lot of his martyr rhetoric just doesn't play well when it's your party that's in control. He can't use a Ted Kennedy or Tom Daschele or Jesse Jackson like he used to. He's like a stand-up comic whose material got old.
But don't count Rushbo out. As the wingnuts get desperate...and we haven't seen anything yet...he'll be very happy to welcome that back to his good graces. That is, of course, until he's hauled off for his own trial.

when when their representatives are in the minority. Hopefully, we'll be playing defense again soon.

15. Democrats Are Still Lousy At Offense & Defense |
|
Right now, the right wing and their proxies have a big advantage in the media. Media Matters did a survey of MSGOP talk shows over the past few months and showed how badly skewed it was with Repugnican proxies. The few Democrats who make the rounds are "safe" ones like Joe Biden or another DINO who puts up a mild resistance and always makes Democrats look weak. This is the script and it's been played in the corporate media for over a decade.
It's easy to play offense when your lies and distortion not only go out unchecked and unquestioned, but the hosts and "credible" voices participate in that dirty echo chamber that has been used to lead this country to economic and social ruin.
Peace...

probably really believed that. You bring back memories. WKRP was a GREAT television show. One of a kind. Great characters who actually had depth.

I am amazed at how worked up and screaming mad those two get and somehow their blood pressure hasn't caused a heart attack, stroke or worse. :)
Just food for thought on two guys who sit and judge other people for far worse. :-P
