MSNBC: Reporter "Given Every Indication There Will Not Be Action Today"
Edited on Wed Oct-26-05 09:03 AM by Hissyspit
No public action by Fitzgerald today, David Shuster says, but could deliver sealed indictments.

8. Schuster did lay out what possible charges
they are facing. A group of lawyers made the list for him. The IIPA, or the 1917 Espionage Act, or perjury, obstuction of justice, making false statements or conspiracy. There was one other I can't remember. Sure is a lot different than what they have been saying on t.v. all week isn't it?
He said it could be any one or a combination of these charges.

2. David Schuster from Hardball was the reporter
and yep, he said that they think it will NOT be today. Since Springer is saying the press conference is scheduled tomorrow, my guess is tomorrow will be the day.

5. Sorry, but that would not surprise me at all.
I think the best you can hope for is very late this afternoon, but I have to agree with Schhuster that Thursday is more likely.

6. Just thinking--does that mean there's a slam dunk coming
The reason I ask that is that all the "experts" say that you NEVER wait until the last minute with these juries but leave yourself a few days before the end of their term. Wonder then why he would push it to the very last minute???

10. I heard the same thing this AM from Toobin on CNN
Said they never wait til the last minute bla bla bla would likely be today etc. I guess Toobin used to be a prosecuter. Who would be more in the know? Toobin or the msnbc reporter? I have no idea--I wish I did.

13. I have a sneaking suspicion...
That Rove et al. are negotiating with Fitz.

15. That's a horrendous thought
My worst fear is that this will all get swept under a rug...

I watched something earlier about Fitz's background and Mary Jo White was singing his praises. Pardon my paranoia but I seem to recall her being one of the prosecuters that allowed all kinds of crap to go on relating to the Clinton witch trials.

I hope I am confused but I thought White was a hero with the right wingers way back when.

I probably should google this to make sure she wasn't hated by the right wingers--so much has gone on over the last few years that I am getting overload of info scrambling around in my head.

7. I heard him say.
That sealed indictments could be delivered today? Surely those who got whacked will show and tell? Need to keep an eye on the lawyer's movements today for the accused.

9. I kind of wish the media would put a cork in it
I never thought I would say this but I wish the media would just shut up with the predictions!

I know, I know... I have lost my mind--two years ago you couldn't get them to cover this for anything, so I should be happy about this media blitz, but it's not only driving me out of my mind waiting...

I am starting to develop wild paranoid tin foil theories about the media building this up and praising Fitz at the instruction of Rove and company.

I need to get off the net today and take a chill pill
(not that I will actually DO THAT of course!)

11. Keith Olbermann and guests surmised last night that ...
... Fitz would send up the sealed indictments Wednesday and have a press conference with the announcement on Thursday. So, today may be Fitzmas, but we won't know it till tomorrow!

A watched pot never boils.

12.  GJ will finish its work today, that's why tomorrow is a press conf.
You can be reasonably sure those who have been indicted will be told sometime today or early tonight.

I think it is very likely that will result in one or many of the following in order of likelihood:

1. Leaks to the press that come right out and say clients have been indicted.

2. Announcements of resignations.

3. The White House goes into bunker mode, probably the same at the VP's residence.

4. Federal Marshalls show up at the White House and/or the homes of the indicted.
