1. God, that is soooooo lame!
First of all, for satire to be funny, it's got to have some roots in the truth. But if anyone still thinks the media is "liberal," they're just plain stupid. And really, is the NEA the organization on everyone's radar screen? Is this really what Americans are concerned about right now? The fucking NEA? Wow. Delusion is a power drug.

4. Yep. Really sad that they confuse the news media with entertainment media
One is highly conservative and the other is not.

11. The "entertainment media" is rather conservative
when you consider that "sex sells" - it did for the "news media" for damn near every "scandal" Bill Clinton was in . . .

And the funny thing is, if the "entertainment media" was not giving the people what they want, it would dry up in an instant.

7. I think they are right about the media being liberal
they just never mention the corporate propaganda posing as media.

15. Creators also runs Mark Shields and Molly Ivins: no guilt by association
Rather lame to get on Creators Syndicate case. They run some of the best from both sides. Seems like what good media syndicates should do. The best solution to bad speech is more speech.

3. Chuck Asay is a first-class asshole.
Big time. He's the star cartoonist of Freedom Media, which produces such fishwraps as the Colorado Springs Gazette--which I had the misfortune to encounter whilst visiting the in-laws at regular intervals. (He lives and works in CO Springs, the RW fundy echo chamber--what a surprise.)

:puke: is all I have to say about him.

12. He always misses the point,
and is ideologically based, not reality based. All of his cartoons are taken from radical right wing talking points and often directly buttress the wing nut editorials.

Honestly, The Gazette promotes itself as Libertarian, but it will twist itself in knots to support radical Republican cant. :eyes:

I read it almost everyday. But sometimes I just have to skim the editorials. They can devolve into worthless drivel.

6. In the Republican-colored sky, a balanced media never holds any of them
accountable. See, you can tell the media is biased by the "tenacity" in which they "bash" Bush. :sarcasm:

and an evil group?

National Endowment For the Arts. You know - the group that gives away a penny or two out of your tax dollars to obscenity. Wrong NEA? It was one of the boogeyman of the 80's, so I assumed it was the same.

The Marine Corp Marching Band has a higher yearly budget than the National Endowment for the Arts.

16. no, you are probably correct
but they hate giving any money to anything which might be weird or give people something to think about; education or the arts. Both are bad communist ideas I guess... :eyes:

20. Rod Paige, the Secretary of Education,
referred to the NEA as a "terrorist organization" last year. http://www.cnn.com/2004/EDUCATION/02/24/paige.terrorist.nea/

19. Lame-o.
First off, I'd rather be joined with the NEA than the NRA. Second, the media thing is just their paranoid delusion that ANY AND ALL CRITICISM OF THE BOY KING IS CUZ OF THE LIBURL MEDIA.
