13. Sounds like a new plot for 24...
Where they find a way to get Jack back because they "leaked" his identity to the VP (acting president) when they weren't supposed to.

4. That makes no sense what so ever
Edited on Wed Oct-26-05 01:07 PM by Norquist Nemesis
At least not in the sense the Tenet couldn't tell Cheney about Plame's noc status. Cheney would have at least the same level of clearance as Tenet and there is no way Tenet would have been unaware of her status and the laws on who he can tell.

So what is CNN speculating Tenet would be under indictment for?

6. Did Tenet admit that or is this on the basis of info 2 days ago?
Tenet said he didn't tell Cheney. Was he then caught today saying something different?

11. At the moment, I haven't a clue
The rumors are flying so fast and furious that the disinformation campaign is becoming effective.

Somehow, we need to keep on focus that this is about taking the country to war based on lies then trying to cover it up. (period emphasized) Though, I'll be the first to admit I'm having trouble not getting caught up in it all as well.

12. What I typed in the OP was most of the conversation about Tenet
She asked him "what about the Tenet indictment rumors?"

He mentioned his conversation with Barr and they moved on.

16. Recently CNN reported Tenet told...
...his friends he hadn't told Cheney. He hasn't been before the grand jury in a long time. If they're nailing for perjury or obstruction it's probably from something from way back.

Personally, I think Barr was just blowin smoke about Tenet. I think just after Barr's comment Bob Frankin (politely) indicated the same thing.

5. Tenet, CIA director told the VP of the US clasified info? THIS IS HUGH!11
Edited on Wed Oct-26-05 01:08 PM by jsamuel
It doesn't really hurt Tenet as much as Cheney. Tenet was telling the VP something, probably not illegal, unless Cheney didn't have a "need to know", then Tenet should get indicted with the rest of 'em.

10. absolutely, it is the place where the "Plame" usage could have started
as opposed to "Valerie Wilson".

14. I'll bet he told Cheney in response to an inquiry
Who inquired? The CIA must have phone logs? They must know the answer to that.

If he told Cheney then he must have told him she was NOC. I wonder if he asked WHY Cheney wanted the information? Tenet was the one who referred the matter to the Justice Dept.

This isn't good for Cheney.

Tenet wasn't the one running around calling reporters, he told the VP who has the appropriate clearances to receive the information.

Remember how uncomfortable Bush was when he announced Tenet's resignation?

I would love to know what Tenet said to Fitzgerald.

I remember reading Tenet wasn't called to testify, is this accurate?

15. So they got her name from the June 10th memo and called Tenet for
Edited on Wed Oct-26-05 01:34 PM by applegrove
clarification on what her actual "secret" job was? I'm still wondering why Powell & Armitage quickly ordered the June 10 document as they were leaving for that fligth to Africa almost a month later? How come Cheney & Tenet new but Powell did not? It was a State Department investigation!!

20. Powell said on Larry King his file did not mention Plame.
I took that to mean the file said Wilson. Tenet probably told Cheney about Plame and maybe even BJ. That is the name that Judy had in her notebook (Flame). Then from there it somehow got to Novak.

21. But June 10 - State Department someone knew the "wife" existed.
Powell didn't know about that state department memo for at least 3 or 4 more weeks. But on June 12 - Libby heard from Cheney the name.

So someone Cheney had the info from the June 10 memo and must have got confirmation or the actual "name" from Tenet?

I'm guessing.

But really sad that Cheney was getting State Department Memos that Powell & Armitage didn't get or know about for weeks.

That is my point. I don't know - I wasn't there - but isn't it sad if Powell was not getting all the memos from the State Department!

22. I was out of date on my info on the memo. Seems armitage saw it
on the 12 of June or so and it was kept in a safe until July 7th.

17. Well Cheney has the top security clearance so i think Tenet has to tell
him if he asked, what Cheney did with that info is the real crime possibly.

18. Exactly. Cheney passing it on is the crime
and none of this "he didn't know she was undercover" bullshit either.

If Cheney, then Libby and Rove, didn't pass on that she is undercover, why did only Novak print her name? Wouldn't all the reporters who were given the information have printed it?

19. and you know that Tenet must have told she was either NOC then or was
so they knew all along and if i remember right Novak claimed at some point that one of his sources said not to print her name or what she did for a living, i bet that source was Tenet and Novak was calling to confirm that bit of info.
