Ok, this is SERIOUSLY pissing me off. I go to http://www.MichaelMoore.com and ok FINE, there's Katrina relief stuff front and center, ok...but uh, it's been 3 days...nothing for Wilma victims?! So I go to http://www.HowardStern.com NOTHING. I go to dozens and dozens of other sites, SAME DEAL. Gee, thanks! Nice to know my state is a complete and utter JOKE and DOES NOT EXIST. Most all sites I went to had Katrina relief links up ASAP. And here on DU?! Do I even wanna go there?!

I can't handle a replay of Katrina, and the items I have read ensure that my blood pressure would be sky high.

There have been items here, I don't know that you want to read all of them atm because of Jeb.

My heart goes out to all of you, and I'm donating what I can.

Also, unlike Katrina, I know my corporation was much faster handing over donations, but they are donating the same amounts 1 mill + matching 1 mill. The email went out yesterday morning.

Katrina didn't happen until someone local hijacked the group emails and send a horribly desperate and sad plea for help. My corp coughed up the next day on FRIDAY.

It seriously was HELL last year after Francis & Jeanie when it was in the UPPER 80s at night...and no power. How I got even 3 minutes of sleep, I still, to this day, DO NOT KNOW. It was THE WORST. I mean, I know I'm bitching and moaning like a 2 year old here, but this is NOTHING next to what it was last year. I'm only doing this cuz there are MILLIONS who are FAR WORSE OFF than I am. 23. before & during Wilma all the TV channels were here reporting BUT

now that it is over they have disappeared from Key West.

it's only word of mouth that I even know some of the damage to the island. the car I get to drive was flooded and will only start with charge cables and then dies after it is turned off. (owner of car is working on it after his day job is over)

guess I'll be busing for awhile.

but we are at the end of the road, 140 miles out into the ocean and we know it takes forever for help to come down the road or fly in or float in.
