Bob Novak seems to be walking away unscathed... |
|
That creepy little Edward G. Robinson look-a-like with stoned fish eyes and a spray on comb over is apparently going to skate through the Plame Affair like a Barney the Dinosaur ice show, i.e., horribly unfunny with no lessons learned.
HE is the one who revealed the name to the public. HE also violated the law.
Am I going nuts or is he never going to be able to try out his cheeky condescending personality on a prison inmate affectionately known as "Demented Dave".
Why in the hell is Robert "I'm a better Catholic" Novak so untouchable?
:argh:

1. He is not a government official, he didn't violate the law |
|
whoever told him is the guilty party and Novak is just a giant asswipe.

2. He revealed the name. This does not mean he violated the law |
|
Now if he lied about the details, that's one thing. But the word is he flipped a long time ago.
But no, Novak's first amendment rights as a journalist protect him, and the specific law wasn't written to punish the journalists. It was written to punish the leakers. Unless a person parades as one in the same.

He walked by talking. His "base" is going to consider him a traitor when the testimony is revealed and everyone else already didn't like him.

11. With all of this "liberals are traitors" talk, can't we find something? |
|
trea·son ( P ) Pronunciation Key (trzn) n. 1)Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies. 2)A betrayal of trust or confidence.

Doesn't he aid the enemy by revealing the name of an undercover agent directly related to the investigation of Weapons of Mass Destruction in the target nation?
Isn't it a betrayal to the nation?

7. He is an old, beaten man |
|
He has broken both wrists, his ankle(s), his hip, and he is falling apart. He lost it on national TV. He has been marginalized, both by his former friends, who consider him a sellout, and his enemies, who see that he has lost his mojo and is no longer an entity to be feared.
And if you have a fair singing voice, you do not go to jail.

I hope he has to do the old soft shoe until his feet bleed. That should make the inmates feel less "rapey".

His reputation is in tatters. He retains his freedom, but loses his ability to hold his head high. Time for the Douchebag for Liberty to slink away to the dustbin of history.

In case anyone is really wondering what Novak is known for here in D.C./noVA, it is his "crusade" to rid D.C. proper of stoplight cameras so he can tool around in the Vette without getting any more tickets.
I'm serious - he is on this campaign, predicated on them being "intrusive" (which they are of course, but since when did government intervention ever bother Bobby Novak).
No one takes him seriously anymore -I can't believe The Post still publishes him on the Op-Ed page.

He's been singing like a canary for months, maybe longer.
Lost his CNN gig after he lost control of himself.... he's irrelevant, and that's the worst thing an opinion columnist can be.

His whole Schtick was his "sources" - the secrit squirrel shit he was able to report on. Ya think after he ratted out whoever told him about Plame he'll ever be trusted by any of them again. He can't do honest reporting, he had a very public meltdown on CNN, my guess is we'll never see him on TV again. He may continue to produce columns but who's gonna believe him. He's a sad irrelevant old man.

Novakula has lost a great deal of professional credibility since he outed Plame. We're not the only folks to acknowledge and comment on this fact (though we may be more hostile to the creep than most). OTOH, Bobby Boy will retain his bonafides with the bloodsucking GOP leeches so he WILL walk away, more's the pity.
