Sex Offender Curfew in NJ
Guy on Rita Cosby (Acting Gov of NJ?) said they would be wearing GSP ankle bracelets. Shouldn't that be GPS???

Please, get a clue.

1. I have a question, actually three
Edited on Wed Oct-26-05 09:08 PM by DainBramaged
All my life, we were told about razor blades in apples and it was complete bullshit. Now we're told that the sex offenders are waiting in the bushes to jump out at the kids.

1)Just how many sex offenders are there in NJ

2)Are all of them convicted for acts against little children or are some just lumped in because of the age of consent?

3)If they are released, didn't they already pay their debt to society, or is eternal humiliation and suspicion part of the punishment?

On edit; I had the apples in the razor blades, I fixed it.

3. I don't know about the first two, but people who sexually abuse kids
have a debt to society that is too high to actually pay.

5. I agree,
sexually abusing a child eliminates your ability to be human.

10. Even if you think that
it does not mean that people should not treat them as human.

11. Well there is my problem,
I think that society has the olbigation as well as the right to do what ever is necessary to identify anybody who has abused a child. I don't have children, but I sure as hell would not one near my niece without EVERYBODY knowing about it. Personally, I think that if you sexually abuse a child, the natural light of day should only be a memory.

However, I also harbor feelings that for killing or raping a child death is not out of the question.

2. Apparently those psychopathic (of any sort) are on duty - looking
for the next "mark" 24/7. Don't let the curfew make you feel safer. Just let it make you feel safer while it is on.

6. If I was a bank robber and got 30 years for it and served all 30
Would I have to stay away from banks? It's the same logic. We lump them all together, no matter the severity or passion of their crimes as the most heinous and loathsome imaginable (are murderers treated the same) and yet why does NJ have so many that they need to put GPS tracking bracelets on them? Is it the water? Or are they all sent here?

And once they're all registered and their pictures on line, and the neighborhoods refuse them shelter, where do they go? Do they live under bridges so that they can be free to prowl again?

This is bad shit, and the Governor is a Dem. What's next? Colonies for criminals because society won't allow their return? If the crimes they committed are so heinous and they are still capable of doing the crime again, why let them out?

Catch 22.

8. sex offenders can't be cured
They have no consience. You have to watch them like rabid preadators because they ARE.And there is no shame big enough to keep them way from kids.I wish they were all dead.

Trauma inflicted by a sex offender is something that can ruin a persons life.A sex offender does not deserve freedom because they ABUSE freedom.
It's part of why they cannot be trusted.

9. I have another question (compound)
If an adult over 18 is having sex with a 17 year old where age of consent is 18 and he does 6 months for the crime 20 years ago because her mother was a hump but is now classified as a sex offender and has (adult) kids himself with that same woman who is now his wife, should his life be destroyed, job lost, friends removed and he wear a bracelet because he is now classified as a sex offender?

Catch 22

PS,

Not me but a script I am writing that is appropriate for today.
