Bolton's a known liar. He's previously tried to ruin people who got in his way...and now he's a UN "ambassador",with immunity from prosecution right?

an authority (judge) that has the power to do it.

is there definitely a Mr. X? When it first came up, I figured it was just a lame diversion to save their sorry asses. But do we now know for sure that he exists?

Sorry for my ignorance.

14. You see Libby was told by Cheney on June 12. and June 10th is when
Edited on Wed Oct-26-05 09:37 PM by applegrove
the memo mentioning vaguely Wilson's wife was first published - by the State Department. And that State Department memo - was not in Colin Powell or Armitages hands till the flight to Africa on Air Force One in like late June or Early July. "See below - June 12 is when Armitage ordered to see it"

So Cheneyboy - had info on Plame on June 12, State department (Bolton was there) had it on June 10 - when the memo was written. Perhaps Bolton didn't get the memo to cheney?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Oh - I was wrong - here it is in more detail:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/8/26/15423/9400

" Daily Kos "

After a June 12 Washington Post story made reference to the Niger uranium inquiry, Armitage asked intelligence officers in the State Department for more information. He was forwarded a copy of a memo classified "Secret" that included a description of Wilson's trip for the CIA, his findings, a brief description of the origin of the trip and a reference to "Wilson's wife."

The memo was kept in a safe at the State Department along with notes from an analyst who attended the CIA meeting at which Wilson was suggested for the Niger assignment. Those with top security clearance at State, like their counterparts in the White House, had been trained in the rules about classified information. They could not be shared with anyone who did not have the same clearance.

Less than a month later, Wilson went public with his charges.

The next day, July 7, this memo and the notes were removed from the safe and forwarded to Powell via a secure fax line to Air Force One. Powell was on the way to Africa with the president, and his aides knew the secretary would be getting questions.

Fitzgerald has become interested in this memo, the earliest known document seen by administration officials revealing that Wilson's wife worked for the CIA. Powell told prosecutors that he circulated the memo among those traveling with him in the front section of Air Force One. It is believed that all officials in that part of the aircraft had high-level security clearance. "

.....SNIP"

15. daffy duck...
you've never seen him in the same room with Karl Rove.

With his speech impediment, you could easily mis-hear "Flame" for "Plame"

You've never seen Shrub duck-hunting, have you?

and finally, with that white collar around his neck, you know he's a corporate, dick cheney kind of guy.

i rest my case.

What if he has a Multiple Personality Disorder and has spent most of his time investigating himself?

Or maybe it's John Doe, bassist for X.

17. Somewhere I read that "Mr. X" is non-partisan.
There is one group in the White House that is non-partisan, and that is the military.

Could some military person have been in on this, hopefully advising that outing a CIA employee, foreign operative or not, is a very, very bad idea?

That's my guess.

Also, I believe the he was in on the WHIG from the get-go. Didn't he say there was a "slam-dunk" case for war with Iraq?

19. George Tenet
I think Tenet is Mr. X.

I remember thinking as I watched his face toward the end as he testified all over before he resigned. He was being a good and faithful soldier, but he wasn't happy about it. I always figured if he was pushed hard enough he would turn on the whole lot of them.

Tenet has been interviewed but not called before the Grand Jury to testify? Doesn't that seem odd?

And they thought they could buy him with a medal!

21. I think that's a logical conclusion
last week I read an article at dailykos about this guy named Wurmser who used to Bolton's assistant and he has, more recently been Cheney's middle east advisor. This guy was involved in lots of stuff and it was suggested that he has also been cooperating with Fitzgerald's investigation.

Bolton's certainly been involved in other sleazy dealings in this administration. It's certainly not a stretch of the imagination to think he could also have been involved in this too!

25. The reason speculation is so hard with this bunch
is that they are all so corrupt that anything is possible. It's not a question of one administration having "a few bad apples", it's more like an administration of rotton apples with one or two mixed in. I have no idea who Mr. X is, and can't wait to find out.
