"Put down your pens, and close your workbooks" (Miers misses the deadline)
BTW: the Senate Judiciary Committee has yet to recieve its updated questionnaire from nominee Harriet Miers We're told it'll get to them around 11 p.m. ET. Said NY Sen. Chuck Schumer in a statement at 8:45 pm: "This is another in a series of disappointments. The Miers nomination is suffering from a serious bout of delay, distraction, and disorganization and needs a dramatic turnaround."

1. Put down your pencil, Harriet. Do not move on to the next section,
or go back to complete a previous section.

2. Can she do any "extra credit" to bring up her grade?....
Like maybe help staighten up the books in the Library of Congress? And do the senators grade on a curve? Will any of this be on the final exam?

5. Maybe she can dust the erasers on bush's forehead.
I used to love to do that, because it got me out of the classroom. Take those chalkboard erasers and bang them on the schoolyard playground *cough cough*.

6. And it was a re-written one, at that!
Her first one was so bad, she had had to do it over again. Who ever got a second chance on a questionaire?

8. Is this intentional on her part? How can anyone be so obtuse, and be
nominated for the highest (lowest IMHO after selection 2000) court in the land? It is so pathetically unbelievable, it's laughable.

9. Honor code: "I have neither given nor received any aid on this exam"
Does Harriet have to write that on the cover?

10.  In message to Senate, Harriet sez: "it got lost in the mail"..sorry boys!
"I will make it up this weekend, PLUS send a batch of my favorite brownies that our brilliant President just adores. He loves them so much he just goes batty when he smells them. Ya'll don't mind the lateness I know, because you're all So Cool! The coolest Senate committee people I ever met!

Love,

Harriet Miers
