Bush * White House Implosion. |
|
While the Dems sit back and watch this White House is imploding. If only Fitzgerald could dump a few indictments on them right about now it would be some sweet icing on the cake.

2. Actually, the Miers withdrawal is the smartest thing they've done all year |
|
Sadly, that is.
Her nomination exposed a simmering rift in the party, causing many to break Reagan's famous "eleventh commandment."
They need to project unity now, especially in the face of impending indictments (not to mention the DeLay and Frist investigations).
Bush will nominate an arch-conservative, playing to his base -- the only supporters he has left -- as a feeble attempt to have some sort of legacy other than the meat-grinder that is Iraq.
This will force the Dems to filibuster. The GOP will then label them as "obstructionist," as they have done in the past. This will be their rallying cry in the '06 midterms.

3. a thought I just had... |
|
Bush's poll numbers are down, he's increasingly unpopular (not sure if he knows that), his SC nom had to withdraw, in large part due to opposition from his 'base', he faces criticism for his pet war, couldn't ram through his destruction of social security, under heavy criticism for mishandling Katrina and for naming unqualified loyalists to important jobs (like Brown to FEMA), faces criticism for his vacation time, some of his top advisors are facing possible indictments relating to promoting his pet war...
Bush is a lazy, vindictive, angry man who likes getting his own way...at what point will all this get to be more than he can stand?
Might he either blow a gasket or just quit in disgust?
Probably wishful thinking...but
