Martial Law would kill off indictment stories, wouldn't it.
Check this out:
Bush wanted military authority in New Orleans, didn't get it because Landreau saw what he was up to.
Things are not going well in Florida. There are lots of (relatively) well off people without power or water and food stocks are diminished.
Bush is going to see major distribution problems, want to militarize the response..
Jebbie says, "Sure, Bro, knock yourself out."

2. Admitting to having captured aliens would, too!
And it's just as likely.

7. I have it on good authority that they're responsible for...
...reality TV? No human would demean other humans that way, right? Right??

3. It's odd
that the presss isn't covering Florida as much...
martial law wouldn't happen there, not in a negative way. Jeb doesn't need that.

4. "not in a negative way" ?
How is declaring martial law not a negative development... given this guy's desire for an "automatic trigger" for deployment and preference for the "security" function over the "relief" function?

13. It would be positive
if communities banded together and provided aid, absence authourity and the usual remenants of order. it's also a media perspective as well. The coverage determines the reaction.

And as far as Jeb being incompetent, whatever. At some point, somewhere, we have to realize that Hurricanes are going to disrupt peoples lives. There was a great article about how the utility companies won't bury lines, and that the power outages are actually more cost effective then spending the money to put them underground.
Whatever. Florida is far from the do nothing approach FEMA exhibited after the local boobs did just as little.

10. No but maybe in a positive way. Jeb just shot himself in the foot
to my way of thinking with his two comments, blame me not FEMA, and Floridians had plenty of time to prepare with 72 hours of supplies. I have wealthy friends in North Miami that are waiting in lines that have inadequate supplies, still. This isn't going to play out well for the incompetent Bush family!

8. Several weeks ago, I predicted that Junior
Would use another big hurricane in a red state with a friendly red Governor as an excuse to declare Martial Law, except they won't call it Martial Law, they'll have some Orwellian name for it.

He tried it on in Louisiana and thank GOODNESS Governor Blanco and Senator Landrieu could see what the little punk bastard was intending.

Junior's DESPERATE for Martial Law and that old goat John Warner is trying his BEST to find a way to allow Junior to use troops in a domestic situation...like a hurricane or bird flu.

Junior intends to stay in office after 2008, legally he can't, but when has ANYTHING legal EVER stood in the SOB way? Martial Law is his only hope and it's probably the one thing he even has a clue about.

I've got my pitchfork all ready, for when it's needed.

12. Oh heck
:scared:

I don't think it'll happen today though. Hurricane season isn't over yet...and they've always got the fake bird flu attack to use, which is on the back-burner ready to be trotted out when it's needed.

Still, my pitchfork remains by my bed.
