I think this is a sign the world is about to end.
My good friend married a guy about ten years ago who was a dyed in the wool, dittohead Republican. I hated to broach any political subject at all because he had all the talking points down and wanted to rant about how government intrusion on business was horrible, etc., etc. My friend (we were college roommates years ago and still talk every day) and I have just agreed to avoid the subject altogether because she tends to agree with him. She went me an e-mail today that said this:

"I guess we'll hobknob with these political folks tonight. The representative is xxx. The speaker is xxx. It's at Lynn's home, I think, so maybe just like a cocktail party? Did I tell you Peter says he is becoming a Democrat -- truly! But he said on the local level he is still more of a Republican. Since I have no opinions of my own, I guess I'll be a democrat, too. He now says Bill Clinton was a genius even if he was smarmy (sp?)."

I can remember the venom which any mention of Bill Clinton elicited. I guess the tide has definitely turned.

1. The republicans are missing the good old days of the 90's.
Sometimes you never know how good you had it until it's gone, or a chimp is in the White House.
