Whoa!!! Sen. Grassley is getting into it with Kyra Phillips re: Cancun |
|
Kyra Phillips just showed an engrossing report of Americans who remain stranded and desperate in both Cancun and Cozumel.
She held Sen. Grassley's feet to the fire, asking him what he would personally do to ensure that the Americans are evacuated quickly.
Sen. Grassley attempted to end the interview, saying he did not wish to get into a confrontation with Kyra Phillips about what should be done.
She backed off and he's still being interviewed. Pretty fascinating stuff if you want to tune in and watch a cranky Republican getting grilled on what has to be one of the worst days to be a, well, cranky Republican Senator.

1. Cancun AND Florida. She's really going after him. |

LOL. She just said, "I think this was a very healthy conversation. I hope you're not upset with me."

8. This "friend" thing is a |

great part of the problem w/MSM, and that friendship prevents the public from being fully informed: it's diffult to interview a friend and hold his/her feet to the fire.

1) A US Senator can't do shit about what's going on in another country
2) The governor of Florida and FEMA are responsible for what's going on there
Grassley wasn't the person to open up on like that. It was Jeb, the Florida senators, and the State Department. I think Kyra is jealous of Anderson Cooper, and besides that, she's a little off.

7. I called his office during Katrina and asked what he was doing, |
|
personally, to make sure the victims were getting the help they needed.
His cranky rep gave me the cold shoulder. I was so upset that I almost started crying, and she didn't seem too impressed.
Here in Iowa, the papaers line up to swoon all over Chuck. They think he's just peachy. Ugh.

12. Our Countrymen in Cancun Are Probably Better Off Than |
|
Our fellow countrymen and countrywomen in Cancun are probably better off than our fellow countrymen and countrywomen were in New Orleans not so very long ago.
Most of the American tourists stuck in Cancun and Cozumel are middle-class and I feel for them. I also felt for the elderly, mobility-challenged, and elderly inhabitants in New Orleans who suffered after Hurricane Katrina, too. Nevertheless, I wonder if the presstitutes in the corporate media are going to start parroting Boortz's "Evacuate the rich first!..." meme.

15. How is merely asking a question 'confrontational'? |
|
Just because Grassley is confronted with reality and a question he cannot answer, he cuts off the dialogue.
