Car stickers you hate.
The sticker that makes me involunarily gag is the one with Calvin bowing to a Jesus cross. Having been a fan of Calvin and Hobbes, I just can't see it.

Of course, the less-ubiquitous-of-late "W" stickers are vomit-inducing as well.

NRA stickers make me wary.

Jesus fish of any variety make me snort. Especially on a smog-belching SUV. Jesus loves those.

Here in CO, we have "Respect Life" license plates - supposedly to remember Columbine, but really a bone for anti-choice types.

How about you?

I make a point of driving up alongside of people with those W stickers to give them a nasty, scornful, "How could you?" look.

Sadly.

And the thousands more from cuts in help programs.

"God is Pro-Life"
I'm not religious, but I think it's the ultimate in sinful hubris for religious wingnuts to dare to speak what "God" is...

... And after Katrina, earthquakes, etc. I am not so certain that if there is a God, I'd believe she's pro-life either!

Dumbass bumper sticker.

Another creepy one I've seen here in Charlotte, on the back of a Mercedes no less: "Don't be fooled. My real reward is in Heaven."

I wanted to puke on that wingnut.

7. Any "Calvin peeing" sticker
"It's a child, not a choice"

Magnet Ribbons. As if it weren't pretentious enough to think a ribbon on your car was going to help support anything, they have to make it a magnet so that there won't be sticker goo on the car when they have to change to the next "ribbon cause" that comes out.

Luckily, I don't see too many conservative stickers here in LA. Most are liberal, and many don't have any stickers at all because they don't want to mess up their luxury car.

27. The original reason for those is
you usually always keep your car seat in the car if you have a baby. When you get in an accident, if you have one of those signs on your car then the police can look for the child that may have been thrown from the car. So, you were supposed to put it up when a child is with you and take it down when the child is not there.

I have to say, anything that even has the remotest possibility of waking up some of the shitty-ass, obnoxious, self-centered drivers in massively outsized Trucks and SUVs to the fact that they are NOT the only living beings on the road, much less the planet-- strikes me as an eminently reasonable idea.

Nevertheless, I don't have one on my car- and back in the day when those things first started appearing, I thought they were absurd.. I think I used to have one that said "Deadhead on Board"

It read: "Having an abortion doesn't make you un-pregnant, it makes you the mother of a dead baby."

Having had a miscarriage years ago, this made me feel a tad bit sad, and I can't imagine how someone who is dealing with a painful, recent pregnancy loss would feel seeing that. What a fuckwad! making a political 'point' at the expense of someone else's pain.

I mean, I understand it costs extra to get an ashtray IN your car, but sometimes a little sacrifice for the common good goes a long way.

Not to mention the fact that some of us live in fire-prone areas. Always nice to see some pinhead toss a lit butt out a car window when it hasn't rained for eight months.

20. Bingo - ditto with the "Calvin peeing" decals
There was a segment on one of the radio morning shows where they ripped those decals and most of the people who called didn't evem know who Calvin was or that there was a comic strip called Calven & Hobbes. Of course the type of people who would put a decal of Calvin and the cross or Calvin peeing on a Ford logo would not be the type of people who ever would have read C & H.

I also despise all types of Jesus fish and I've noticed that drivers who have them on their cars think it somehow protects them against harm no matter how stupidly they drive.

The magnetic support the troops ribbons don't piss me off quite as bad except when I see a car with 3 or 4 of them on it. WTF do they think - this means they support the troops more? Gimme a friggen break.

I've had several cars pull in front of me this week and not even try to get out of the way, then I notice the W sticker. Grrrrrrrrrr!

If they're sporting a W sticker, suddenly, there's no room for them to get in front of me on the road. I know it's petty but A) They can never seem to be able to drive and B) Thanks for supporting a warmongering moran!

They might as well have a Nixon '72 sticker.

How the hell can anyone be THAT fucking stupid? HOW?

"My SUV can beat up your hybrid" The only thing your SUV is beating up, besides the environment, is your WALLET asshole.

"BAD Liberal! That's MY income" Yeah, being depleted over time for useless crap by the guys YOU voted in, not us.

"Imagine No Liberals" Yeah, I'm also imagining you working seven days a week for free with no benefits for the rest of your life, drinking nuclear water, eating disease-ridden bacon and dying in a car wreck because no communistic lib'ruls fought for safety standards. RETARD!!!

"We'll Fight For Freedom, You Play Your Guitar" Uh . . .uh . . . who WAS that guy strummin that guit-fiddle and laughin' up a hurricane while NOLA was in a sea of toxic water . . . oh yeah YOUR PRESIDUNCE, JUNIOR! Here's a dunce cap, now hold still while I nail it in your skull . . .

"There is no Traitor Liberals won't Defend" Well, let's see, there's YOUR PRESIDUNCE, Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, Libby, etc, etc.

"Support Capitalism Shop at WAL MART" Yeah, let's give ONE family ALL the cash and not MAKE anything in this country anymore. THAT'S going to make for a GREAT economy. Dickhead.

And so on and so on and so on . . . man, so much stupid on one web page. I've seen hate sites that show more intelligence than this tardster is displaying (that's the opposite of a compliment). Whatever gets you through the night, I guess.

103. Florida has a "choose life" anti-choice plate
These plates have cute little crayon depictions of childrens' faces on them, and are a cute yellow color. 9 of 10 times, accompanying these are a big W sticker of some stripe. Why these plates are legal is beyond me. I am sure that if we all wanted a big "be nice to gay people" plate, it would be cursed.

108. Bill Waterson
I used to be a syndicated cartoonist...I know for a a fact that Bill Watterson is (was) totally against any marketing of his characters. In receiving his Reuben Award (cartoonist version of the Oscars), he lambasted other cartoonists for letting their characters be used in ads and other media...

So, I can hardly believe that he is pleased with seeing his characters used in the windows of cars showing Calvin (and/or Hobbs) doing a variety of things like peeing or bowing to a cross.

I often ask myself if he has ever filed suit against the people using his characters.

120. Wow....
I didn't know that he took up painting. I'm glad to hear that he is doing well.

When I sat in the audience at the Reuben, I couldn't believe how stinging his speech was. Instead of sounding gracious for winning the highest award a cartoonist can receive, he spent nearly thirty minutes brow-beating other cartoonists...Such as Davis (Garfield) who had his images on everything from band-aids to dish soap. He even noted how (the presumptive grandfather of cartooning) Charles Schultz had "sold out" to corporations. It was pretty ugly. He quit Calvin and Hobbs shortly after that. Certainly a man on his own trail...marching to a different drummer.

113. The Jesus fish is just plain tacky
I hate the Jesus fish. It's just tacky. Religious beliefs are personal and private and I don't understand people who have to broadcast them to the world. Maybe it's their own insecurity? Also, I've seen a number of small business owners that use the symbol in the business ads. You think that makes me more likely to call you to clean my gutters because your a "good Christian". Sorry to say, but it has the opposite effect. It makes me wonder why you feel the need to use your religion in marketing your business.

Tacky.

A fish symbol on an ad always makes me suspicious. Shouldn't it go without saying that you will be honest in your dealings with people - regardless of whether you are a Christian or not? Do Christians have a corner on ethics? Snort.
