Whadyawannabet Bush names new Supreme nominee Friday morning? |
|
Early, before there is any chance for a Fitzgerald news conference. Sure, desperate and obvious, but true to form.

2. Doesn't matter. Indictments are much "sexier" for the news media. |
|
They'll be on that like white on rice.

The media is hungry for indictment news. They've been building up for this for 2 weeks (except Fox).

I hope he announces it first thing so the news people can get in a good froth about it.
And despite my own impatience, I hope Fitz saves his announcement for after the Bush camp's announcement. Not too late - leave some time for the news folks to start chewing it up - but distinctly AFTER the Bush announcement. Say, lunchtime. After the press has had a chance to get their mouths full of Supreme Court jawing and just enough to get the Administration to breathe a little bit. Then hit 'em with the indictment stuff. BAM!
Yeah, whoever said the press would be on the indictment stuff like white on rice is right on. They'll drop any Supreme Court talk like it's a hot potato, and move on to the good juicy "bad" news.

16. It makes one wonder if * grasped at straws in the first place... |
|
in nominating Miers. Perhaps that was done also to distract, and he might have known she wouldn't fly, so he would have yet another chance to distract with a new nomination.

17. No, I think he will wait until a day or two after the announcement |
|
We all know that the next nominee will surely please his base (it has too) thus his poll number will go up. So he will use that to make it appear as if American people don't really care about the indictments, as his polls will be up.
Also, he doesn't want to spend his (potential) base "political capital" to soon and risk losing it after the indictment news.
Either way nothing will truly save him. :)
