2. Actually everything at Enron Field pays homage to historic ballparks
in that case, obviously, Fenway, but the outfield hill came from Cincinnati's old Crosley Field, and the flagpole from Tiger Stadium.

4. The Citgo sign is advertisement, pure and simple. It's a recent addition.
I had to look a long time to find a pic of MM with the Citgo sign.

I only noticed it on Tuesday while watching the game.

I don't think it's a design characteristic.

3. The Citgo sign in Kenmore Square near Fenway Park has
been a part of the Boston skyline for a very long time. It's animated fluorescent graphics can be seen for miles.
