2. But WHO RUNS THE SENATE? Frist ... |
|
I'll bet Shrubya is pissed that Dr. Bill had the gall to break the bad news to him that he'd have to pull Harry ... now watch as he torpedoes Frist's prez aspirations.

Dem Senators barely said "boo" about Miers. Bush is friggin' ready for the straitjacket.

10. I watched the News Hour last night and they interviewed Senators |
|
Specter and Leahy. Senator Spector requested the papers from the White House. This is what he said when Jim Lehrer asked him about the importance of the papers they had requested.
"SEN. ARLEN SPECTER: I think they're very important. But we have asked for papers that do not impinge upon executive privilege. Let me give you an illustration. We've asked that she enumerate the matters that she worked on. Not that she -- not that we want to ask her what advice she gave to the president. For example, Guantanamo detention is a very big issue, and if that case comes before the court, we ought to know if she's worked on it but not asking the president what advice was given to him."
This is just another one of Bush's lame excuses and an attempt to muddy the water a little more and blame the Democrats for his failings.

4. Why didn't * demand an "up or down vote"? |
|
:sarcasm:
I was really hoping she'd go up for confirmation and be voted down by the full senate. ;)

With so many being indicted, it's not the time to lose your WH lawyer.

12. Maybe he was hoping she'd be confirmed before the indictiments? |
|
That looks like it could have been the game plan. After all, there is a precident to be decided, which is, "Can you indict a sitting president?"
