1. people charged with crimes aren't found "innocent"...
they are found not guilty...and every white freeper that bitched about the O.J. verdict understands the difference.

2. No Such Thing As Being Found Innocent
You can only be found "not guilty"....

To be found innocent you would have to have your lawyers successfully file a "writ of factual innocence" which are almost never granted...

3. I think it would be unlikely at this stage
Considering what they'd have to go through to get the indictments in the first place, their evidence would have to be pretty solid. There'd be no greater embarassment for Fitz than getting the indictments and not a conviction.

Stranger shit has happened though.

6. It involves more celebrating
This way, we get to celebrate at least once, and maybe twice.

If we wait, we'll celebrate only once max, and might not get a chance to celebrate at all.

(Heck, I celebrate the occasion of "Friday" every week. Sometimes "Saturday" too...)

10. One hurdle at a time
Indictments will be damaging to the neocons even w/o convictions.

They have a few too many scandals on the table right now to escape unscathed.

Convictions are the kiss of death. :)

this thing for this long if there wasn't a good case.

15. Here's the thing about white collar boys...
The indictment is usually the guilty verdict. They are used to being foxes judged only by other foxes. A public trial means that the hens sit in judgement. Foxes are reluctant to face a jury of poultry, so they plea bargain their asses off to avoid it.

Hope for trials. That's the only way we'll get to see and hear the evidence.

16. Let's hope Fitz, and I'm guessing he has, learned from Iran Contra.
Fitz reminds me of an up right medieval priest on a mission from God. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;)

18. Clinton was found "not guilty" of the two charges of impeachment
brought against him, and that had the instant effect of the RW shutting up about how bad Slick Willy was...

NOT!

21. Pre-emptive worrying sucks.
Here, have a Hard Lemonade. Or a shot of whiskey. Or a beer. Or a nice glass of wine. Whatever you like.

:hi:

Just.....enjoy it with me. Ahhhh, in-dict-ments. Ahhhh. Beautiful.

Our cause has not been so far advanced since 2000. Bush is crippled. Blood is in the water. Now is the time to start spreading news of the alternative.

Mysellf, it's not something I worry about.
I try to avoid the sky is falling mentality.
Even though I do engage in being politically active seems to me that sometimes the words of the old Bob Dylan song have some relevance

"have you heard the news? the vice president's gone mad."
"where?"
"downtown"
"when?"
"last night"
"well there's nothing we can do about it. It's just something we're going to have to forget."

Same with Tom Delay's mug shot. These are worthless unless there are convictions.
