When Will We (DUers) Have The Guts To List The Iraqi Dead First? |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-27-05 06:23 PM by stopbush
I'm as guilty of it as everyone else - when I blog about bush's dead, I feel obligated to list the 2,000+ US servicemen first and then the 15,000+ US wounded before I feel that I can safely mention the 50-100,000 Iraqis who have been slaughtered in bush's war. It's a way of putting the damage bush has done to the USA ahead of what he's done to other countries. That reeks of "American lives are more valuable than XXX lives," doesn't it?
That's sort of a chickenshit cop-out on my part, and I think I'm going to stop it.
From now on, when I list the dead from bush's war, I'll list the victims from the country that's suffered the most under bush's war first, and that's Iraq.

1. They're all victims... |
|
...so the order in which they're listed doesn't matter (although I dig where you coming from).

2. Better yet, let's list them all at once. |
|
The 67-117,000 IAmreraicqani dead and wounded.
There. Satisfied?

3. The tricky part, if you're going to LIST... |
|
is coming up with that list at all. To the best of my knowledge, there is no comprehensive "list" of Iraqi dead. You can get about as far as Uday and Qsay (sp?), and then everyone else is anonymous.
