Will there be resignations? |
|
An interesting point brought up on Hardball. There haven't been indictments to sitting white house officials since Grant. Usually once it becomes clear that indictments are coming resignations are asked for or demanded by the president in office.
There haven't been any resignations and indictments are coming tomorrow.
The question is whether we'll wake up to resignations tomorrow morning or to arrogant, in your face, FU's we're not resigning.
If the president doesn't demand or ask for resignations then he's putting himself right in the middle of the legal action.
So DU'ers what say you? What will we wake up to tommorrow?

WE CAN ONLY HOPE
I have a feeling this is going to go all the way up to Cheney
Once they get him, its all over
And we will all be celebrating

2. B*sh hasn't asked for anyone's resignation yet for anything, |
|
and it seems doubtful he will start now.

3. No, they will probably get medals from *. Seriously though, |
|
I think that there will be resignations. Someone will have to take the fall.

announcements could start coming tonight. And * may learn of them with the rest of us. He sure as hell isn't going to ask for them.
I don't think these guys have any FU capital left to squander on "pride" or going down with the ship. IMHO.

5. I watched Hardball, too |
|
It is a very good question. I don't see how (if indicted) there couldn't be resignations. Your points are valid. Tomorrow should be an interesting day, to say the least.

6. I thought of this question too... |
|
and there is the possibilty that they just don't resign. I think Bush/Cheney can fire them if they wish.
On the other hand, they could continue and claim "they deserve their day in court" they must be "presumed innocent" the problem with that approach is that everyone will see that they will be busy defending themselves, not doing the people's business (ahem... as if they every did!)
I do think they will resign.
Even with the resignations, Scotty and Bushy himself will have to answer questions that they have been putting off now about the Plame affair. No longer will " this is an ongoing investigation" cut it.

7. I hope they don't resign. That would be worst possible outcome for Repukes |
|
Let them navigate the sinking ship to take as many Repukes down as possible. I think there are some Republicans who would be just as happy to see the whole ship sink - captain and all...

9. Indictments and resignations tomorrow |
|
I agree with the pundits who think anyone indicted will resign.

bush is already losing all his political power. Keeping indicted people on his staff would just cost him more power.
