Grand Jury #1 Investigated Plame, What Will Grand Jury #2 Investigate? |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-27-05 09:46 PM by Beetwasher
Assuming there will be a GJ #2 or a continuation of the 1st GJ. I say they will investigate about lying to congress and use of illegal propoganda to start an unjustified war as part of a new GJ's mandate or a widening of the original mandate.

3. I Have A Feeling GJ #2 Might Be A Bit Quicker |
|
Remember how Earle got a new GJ and a new indictment within days? Not saying the same thing will happen, or that it will be that quick, but it coulde be quicker. Fitz already has a lot of the evidence collected and a preliminary report ready that would consolidate it and set the narrative.

5. Now That We Have The NYT Article |
|
and it seems the GJ might continue, speculate away on 1. will it be a continuation of the current GJ as is or 2. continuation of the same GJ w/ a modified mandate or 3. A new GJ w/ a new mandate.

6. Why would there be a second Grand Jury in this case? |
|
Fitzgerald can recall this same grand jury for up to three years, if I recall correctly.
They've only been recalled once, so that makes their term so far 1 year.

14. WaPo had that, among other media. That's correct for regular Fed grand |

juries, but not true of special Fed grand juries such as the Plame investigation grand jury.

13. I think this grand jury's had its 18 mo term + one 6 mo extension. |
|
Special federal grand juries sit for 18 months and can be extended in 6 month increments for another 18 months. Total max possible term 36 months.
This grand jury was empaneled not long after Fitz took over the investigation, if I understand correctly.

8. Oh I sure hope you are right.... |
|
But after two frigging years you would think that Fritz has already investigated at least parts of that. It's all related so its had to come up.
Maybe we will get a surprise tomorrow.
