The right got their way. Now what?
Does the blivet regain his 'political capital' because Meiers bowed out? Are the conservatives seeing the big picture, i.e. possible indictments? Will they sing his praises if he nominates the kind of judge they would deem acceptable?

1. They'll love him again IF he nominates THEIR kind of candidate!
If not, they'll try to carry out their threats to make sure Shrub can't govern at all for the next 3 years, and they'll never vote for a Pub again!

2. So it's not about, their base or their convictions,
but their agenda? Despite our differences, it would be nice if we could all agree on what's been hurting this country.

3. Of course it's their agenda! But they think their agenda
is generated by their convictions.

They really only have ONE thing that is important on their agenda, and that's overturning Roe! They've been pitching a fit about it ever since the SC ruled in the 70's!

They're not willing to accept ANY nominee who doesn't have a strong history of wanting to do the same thing!

4. How funny that you say that, because I've heard
(on Bill Maher, I think) that libs were only concerned with abortion and gays.
I heard some conservatives who really were concerned about Meier's lack of constitutional knowledge. That impressed me, because they were correct and educated me.
I'm glad the dialogue is ongoing.
Georgie, can you pick someone with some smarts and discretion and balance?

5. Well, I heard their leaders the other day saying that they
have been patient with Shrub all this time. The bit their lip when he let a run away congress spend $$ like drunken sailors, let him take away their rights with the Patriot Act, & passed a ridiculous drug bill, but NOW is the time he has to pay us back for all the support we gave him. We want a proven strict constructionist who will overturn all the insane things previous courts have wrongfully ruled on.

The extremists don't care if he nominates Big Bird, as long as they can be sure he would vote to overturn Roe!

6. They will force him into a far radicalright wing SCOTUS nominee
because now they have him by the ...that is if he wants support after Fitzmas.
