NYT: Aide to Cheney Appears Likely to Be Indicted in C.I.A. Leak Case
WASHINGTON, Oct. 27 - Associates of I. Lewis Libby Jr., Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, expected an indictment on Friday charging him with making false statements to the grand jury in the C.I.A. leak inquiry, lawyers in the case said Thursday.

Karl Rove, President Bush's senior adviser and deputy chief of staff, will not be charged on Friday, but will remain under investigation, people briefed officially about the case said. As a result, they said, the special counsel in the case, Patrick J. Fitzgerald, was likely to extend the term of the federal grand jury beyond its scheduled expiration on Friday.

As rumors coursed through the capital, Mr. Fitzgerald gave no public signal of how he intends to proceed, further intensifying the anxiety that has gripped the White House and left partisans on both sides of the political aisle holding their breath.

3. So the NYTimes was Drudge's "source"?
Please. What a tool.

I'm sooooo pissed that Rove is not going to be indicted tomorrow but at least he's going to remain under investigation which means that this grand jury is being extended in all likelihood!

5. Crispini
If Rove is not charged then it means he has rolled on somebody or
did a plea bargain.

Damn it I want that fat pig in jail!

19. I think Rove is still square in Fitz's sights either that or
he has rolled on somebody or copped a plea.

I betya that little turd is singing like a birdie for fitz.

Remember he used Novak in H.W. campaign in 92 and got fired for
it.

13. He better roll himself up good in biscuits and gravy, then!
Because if he holds ANYTHING back, ANYTHING, and his testimony is impeached by others who have already rolled, then he is going away for a long, long, time.

Of course, the Monkey will pardon him, but not before he spends hundreds of thousands on his defense. And, he'll be marginalized!!!

If we cannot have a frogmarch, a walk of shame will have to suffice.

9. This is disappointing.
Scooter is simply going to fall on the sword, and the fact that a number of them conspired to do this - destroy the Wilsons - is just going to fall by the wayside.

17. We will see when we see it -- in otherwords rumor rumor rumor
& even at that, not such a bad rumor - Libby indicted, Rove still under investigation.

However, we won;t know the truth until FItz announces.

32. Exactly, any indictments not sealed will be posted at the official
site at the appropriate time, all else is simply rumour fosters by various questionable sources, imo.

And I have noticed they are really busting hard on the CIA leak case.

Looking for redemption, surely, but at least they are making an effort.

14. Rove not off the hook yet
so Rove must have done a deal with Fitz (although they said this morning he hadn't got what he wanted? - 2 years ago people thought Libby was 'the one' after all he was involved in 'the business' - in what Val Plame was investigating.

23. Last Minute Suprises?
Mr. Fitzgerald's preparations for a Friday announcement were shrouded in secrecy, but advanced amid a flurry of behind-the-scenes discussions that left open the possibility of last-minute surprises. As the clock ticked down on the grand jury, people involved in the case did not rule out the disclosure of previously unknown aspects of the case.

28. Eh?
Mr. Fitzgerald has examined whether the leak of Ms. Wilson's identity was part of an effort by the administration to respond to criticism of the White House by her husband, Joseph C. Wilson IV, a former diplomat. After traveling to Africa in 2002 on a C.I.A.-sponsored mission to look into claims that Iraq had sought to acquire material there for its nuclear weapons program, Mr. Wilson wrote in an Op-Ed article in The New York Times on July 6, 2003, that the White House had "twisted" the intelligence it used to justify the invasion of Iraq.

Reads like it does to me?

26. I Call BULLSHIT on Rove Until I Hear From Fitz
"Karl Rove, President Bush's senior adviser and deputy chief of staff, will not be charged on Friday, but will remain under investigation, people briefed officially about the case said."

I call bullshit until I hear from Fitz or I know these "people briefed officially about the case". The NYT can not be trusted about this. It may be true, but I won't take their word for it.

27. I'll wait and see until tommorrow
or whenever Fitzy plays on revealing.
But if Rove doesn't get indicetd, I'll be really pissed. I really wanted Rove.
Libby is good because of his connection to Cheney and the fall out from that should be huge but I really hate Rove and want to really see him go down.

29. Makes sense in a sick twisted way. He did have some last
minute meetings with Rove's lawyer this week. But if he is still under investigation then perhaps he has significant info on the fake memo and Fitz getting new g.j. Maybe he and * are getting ready to hang tricky dick.
