Err, NYT CAN'T BE TRUSTED |
|
Especially w/ regard to this. Duh. I'm not saying it's not true, it may be, I'm just saying people need to get a grip an realize where this is coming from:
"Karl Rove, President Bush's senior adviser and deputy chief of staff, will not be charged on Friday, but will remain under investigation, people briefed officially about the case said."
Uh huh. I'll wait for Fitz, thank you.

1. Maybe Judith Miller or Jayson Blair wrote the story |
|
I'll wait for the official announcement.
Even if he is not indicted, he ain't out of the woods yet.

Thanks for a note of sanity. I'll wait as well. They've been wrong |
|
before. Like before the Iraq war.

2. NYT is under a microscope now. |
|
I trust this better than I've trusted anything they've published in the last 10 years.
Notice that there are things left out; this should signal that they're being careful.

6. Well, Lately They've Been MAKING The Scoop |
|
If you get my drift. Their sources, especially in this dept. are, shall we say, somewhat less than trustworthy.

7. The Washington Post has been getting the scoops. |
|
The only one NYTimes got was Cheney telling Libby about Plame.

9. Stevenson and Johnston are Washington bureau guys who hated Miller. |
|
Not that that makes their story accurate. But they are among the reporters who were anguishing over the damage Miller was doing to the paper. It's not as though Miller or that idiotic Whitewater guy, whose name thankfully escapes me, wrote this.
