Patrick Fitzgerald, if he had the time to read this forum
(which I assume he does not), would probably be rolling with laughter. Think about him and the people who work for him. Think about the jurors!

Happy Fitzmas Eve, everyone! :toast:

(and are depending on) him!

2. Now why didn't I think of that?
In a way I think I have.
Particularly starting on Tuesday when most everyone started getting so impatient & in a sense acting as if Fitzgerald was taking any kind of spectator's timetable into account.

It often seems to me that the attitude is not much different from watching a baseball game, particularly one that is a pitcher's duel, and complaining because no one has hit a home run yet.

I've also been getting more and more amused at all the media trying to come up with information and all the people spinning frantically.

8. They're probably aware of it , from hearsay,
but I hope they all get accounts after all is said and done.

3. You're right, he and his hard-working team don't have time
to surf the net. They're doing it all and getting none of the joy of the season, which wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for them. Do they know it's Fitzmastime at all? cue music:

It's Fitzmastime
There's no need to be afraid
At Fitzmastime, we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world at Fitzmastime

But say a prayer

Pray for the other ones
At Fitzmastime it's hard, but when you're having fun
There's a world inside their office -
Flourescents' artificial pall -
Where the only water flowing is in the cooler down the hall
And the Fitzmas bells that ring there are their buzzing blackberries
Well tonight thank God it's them instead of me -

And there won't be joy in cubicles this Fitzmastime
The greatest gift they'll get's their puny check
(G-Men lawyers' pay's so low
Pirvate-firm guys laugh, you know)
So do they know it's Fitzmastime at all?

(Here's to you) raise a glass for Fitzgerald's Team
(Here's to them) working nights while others dream
Do they know it's Fitzmastime at all?

Spread the word, Spread the word, Spread the Word -
Let them know it's Fitzmastime again!

5. If you can still be laughing, while in horrendous pain, you have friends
who are not only angels - but talented asswell. Nothing is going to keep you saner than laughing at your own dam self - if horrors. You are human - you just keep on laughing. No matter how hard or awful tthey make your life.

6. If they have your snout - deep into the mud - and are holding you there -
you laugh at being human. You laugh at the darkness. You laugh.

10. Posts 6 and 7 make me think you've had trouble grasping what to do here -
We're re-writing Christmas carols. Because it's, like, Fitzmas, you know? Sometimes badly - far be it for me to cast the first song re-writing stone -- but hey, they're songs, singing them helps.

No one said we we're supposed to be doing bad re-writes of Kipling's "If." Where d'you get that idea from? Kipling did pretty fine the first time (even if he was a rotten imperialist white guy.)

11. No - I am saying - it is fine. It is not who we strive to be. It is how we
survive. By laughing our asses off at the trouble that has come our way. Me, I gave into Fitmaz and actually posted my whole twelve days of Fitmaz before the thread was frozen.

I may not be in with the joke, but I'll protect your wright to say what needs saying ... to get us all through the night.. till the cows come home (actually bad analagy since milked cows show up twice a day quite willingly to get relief). So I mean it to be predictable.

To laugh at our human selves in pain & hoping for a saviour...

That's right and fair and honest and real and healthy and normal and brilliant.

I'm with you when you laugh. At anything. In the dark days.

12. Thank's for your tolerance -
suspense makes us all a little wacky, me myself definitely included! Merry Fitzmas to you. You've got the true spirit of the season.

15. Yes - laughter, anger, resoluteness, anything human you can send
my way. Including discipline & empathy (even for the creeps) it is all human.

9. If you can still be laughing ... angels
Also, if you can still be laughing, while they are in horrendous pain, you have friends who are not only angels, but, like, really tolerant ones. And if they can still be laughing, while you're in tremendous pain, you have friends who are no angels!

13. No - the angels will follow you and know you. There are angels. There
Edited on Thu Oct-27-05 11:53 PM by applegrove
really are. And they are not afraid of pain (or perchance they love you so much they will journey with you).

Do you think mother Teresa never laughed? I mean she and Diana died in the same week. Mother Theresa left a bucket, a sari and a pair of sandals to her name. ... You don't think she wasn't capable of laughing her head off with those kids?

Do kids starving and without in Africa .. do not laugh? They laugh, they cry. And we all should be willing to do the same.

It is sad - loosing a whole country(and a big one). But you laugh at the ambiguities. And the surprises. And the hope. And, unlike Ann Colter, you are laughing at your own dam self and not others.

Tis what Fitmaz is about.. laughing at ourselves and our impish and harried hopes.

It even works if you believe in Jesus. Laugh at yourself and your Fitmaz.. you are not taking it out on anyone else. You want a country you can believe in and you will laugh at the pain - you will have to go through.. and others... to get it. What a relief.
