Prediction: Plamegate will lead to Condi as incumbent POTUS!

All the signs indicate that Libby will be indicted and that this will implicate Cheney. When Cheney resigns, Condi will step in as VP.

Condi is just what the GOP needs right now. She will help to start to convert the 98% of black voters who disapprove of *.

If Rove is indicted later on and *'s position looks untenable, Condi will be in the perfect position to step up to the plate and assume the POTUS.

She will lose some of the far-right vote (although this may be ameliorated if *'s next SC pick is a RWer), but she will pick up black voters, independants and poss some moderate Southern Dems.

As incumbent POTUS she will also negate Hillary's novelty of being a potential first woman president.

The media will pick up on the "narrative" of Condi's rise to the top as a symbol of all that is good with America.

However, we at DU know that she is part of the inner circle of neocns, so it will still be the same people behind the scenes pulling the strings.

The GOP will also get to play the victim card by accusing any Dems that criticise Condi of being sexist and racist.

.... but Republicans are pretty stupid in many ways but not stupid enough to nominate Condi - she couldn't beat a ham sandwich in the general election.

I'm just trying to figure out the "narrative", you know the story that the media creates that seems to over-ride reality.

With the Iraq War most DUers could see that the war was gonna happen no matter what and that it was based on a pack of lies. But the media went with the narrative of "popular war time president" who knows what he's doing etc.

This has slowly changed and now the narrative is "strong leader on 9/11" who lost his way and was misled to war in Iraq. If Cheney is set up as the fall guy then they can create a new narrative with Condi, who isn't as unpopular as Bush/Cheney.

According to a.m. news Libby is going to get it for "lying" - nothing else. Rove will be under further investigation. Libby will be scapegoat and all in the White House will go on living happily ever after doing their crimes against America. Without Rove and a number of indictments, this thing will become a dead bomb and America will forgetaboutit by Monday. Cheney will reign just like George until 2009.

Many blacks I know think she's a bitch and would never vote for her--ever. They know her NOT as a black, but as a would-be Bushie who would lick his toes and perform BJs if that was his wish. They know she lied throughout the investigation into Plamegate, she lied about 9/11, she has pretty much lied about every single thing she's touched since she has been around.

Whether she's black, white, mocha, yellow, red, or purple doesn't matter, and shouldn't matter. What matter is whether she could be trusted, and the answer is a definite NO.
