CNN: Rove confirms he's been told he won't be indicted
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 06:38 AM by Karmadillo
Today, at least. The investigation, apparently, will continue. This was a report by Bob Franken.

1. What Rove comparing his life to a greased pig at a picnic
He should be careful. In the end that oinker is headcheese and bacon.

6. LOL! Yup, restoring dignity to gov't all right, dodging indictments one at
a time.

Rove to CNN: they haven't nailed me yet.

2. I feel deflated. I so wanted Jr to say "I reluctantly accept his resigna-
tion" TODAY!

3. Don't be so quick to believe it. The speculation is all over the
place, and none of the news stories suggest any real certainty on this.

5. Translation - no target letter received
Which is not the same as being "told he won't be indicted."

It's the last chance for Rove to try to control the discussion.

9. He GOT the target letter. His lawyers meet twice with Fitz this week
those were not social calls.

Karl The Great Political Kneecapper turns out to be like all other bullies. He's stuffed with chickenshit fear.

Hopefully, Fitz' twisted some truly damning testimony from him on the inside doings of WHIG and the VP.

The GJ still has today to do some last minute indicting.

14. We really don't know about any target letter
He may have verbally been told he is a target rather than by letter.

Also, there is no requirement whatsoever that target letters be sent and in most cases they are not sent.

I agree the meeting of Rove's lawyer with Fitz is bad news for him. But if you read the reports of what may happen today it is possible that Rove has already been indicted and that simply the announcement of his indictment will not be made today, pending his cooperation as part of the deal, and later dismissed or reduced for his cooperation.

So, no announcement re Rove today could mean lots of things.

16. His lawyers made it clear that he had been warned he was in jeopardy
I think that is pretty much code for he got a letter, an email, or a telephone call.

I am guessing we are going to find out soon.

7. I think Fitz is pacing things.
If both Rove and Libby are indicted at the same time that would put an amazing amount of pressure on the executive. If both Bush and Cheney's advisors are implicated in this, who's gonna fill the vacuum while they deal with the fallout?

8. Second time I heard this, CNN didn't say the "Rove confirmed" part
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 06:54 AM by Karmadillo
Maybe Franken misspoke (or maybe I misheard) or maybe Rove really did confirm, but it's probably worth taking everything today with a spoon or two of salt.

20. They will use the same defense the old Nazi prison guards used.

15. That's not necessarily bad for Libby - first to deal gets the best deal
If all the pressure is put on Libby he may crack and give them Cheney. We all know he can do it. Feeling isolated and put out on the ice to die by yourself can change peoples' outlook about loyalty.

19. Little Timmy Russert on Imus
Imus read NBC report that Rove will remain under investigation.
Little Timmy still saying, I don't know a lot.
Tiny tim: The facts are the vp told Libby who met with Judy and Libby says he heard from Matt Cooper and Timmy.

Week from Hell- took hit from Miers yesterday and will take the hit from Fitz today and then try to restart the presidency next week.
If this investigation goes on the entire Iraq war will be investigated for the next year.
Timmy- Colin Powell has been very open- and now says that the information he was given was wrong.- This is big/ Nat'l Sec.

22. I think Rove is negotiating with Fitz
Fitz prolly wants Rove to cop to perjury, and I would guess that Rove's demand is to not do time in Prison; he probably sees himself as more of an ankle bracelet kind of guy.
