1. Brokaw has become so risk averse....
He doesn't rock the boat at all because he already has a legacy. He just lumps along with the status quo.

3. That's like saying " Iraq isn't as bad as Viet Nam"
You'd think that at some time you might learn your lessons.

4. I think Tom Brokaw is wrong.
Iran Contra was bad in the way they abused the laws, betrayed our country, lied to Congress. But, we did not invade Iran and lose 2000 troops in an unnecessary war - a war of choice. And they lied to Congress and the American people also. This is as close to treason as you can get and not cross the line.

6. More people are dead over this than over Iran Contra.
An entire division in number of American soldiers dead or wounded this time round! Hell, this might even be worse than Monica and a whole damned box of White Owls!

5. That's because Brokaw isn't all that bright.
Brokaw wasn't getting paid for his ability to think hard. You don't have to listen to that guy for very long to realize that he's not bringing much in the way of intellectual horsepower to the party. Like a lot of people, it's easy to get him to repeat slogans and talking points; he let's others do the thinking for him.

7. Brokaw is a snob...
That's how I see him. He's out for himself. At least Brokaw and Jennings were real reporters. Brokaw never really was, IMO.

10. How many US soldiers died because of Iran Contra? None that I
know of. Lots of Iraqi and Iranians died because of our meddling. Lots of people in Nicaragua. I think that's the country getting the weapons too. And it wasn't costing $1.5 billion a week.

13. Iran-Contra was a bigger constitutional nightmare.
You can't have the executive branch just getting up and deciding that it won't obey a direct Congressional order.

This has the potential of being larger if it is proved that the Bushes, as I believe they did, launched a campaign to sell forged documents to the American public and Congress to "make the case" for war.
