Bush and Rove will look at this as an opportunity to destroy Fitzgerald |
|
They just need a little more time. Rove will have to be very careful that his fingerprints are not on it, but we can expect the right-wing hate machine to go into high gear. Give them 3-6 more months and Fitzgerald will look like an incompetent Howdy Doody. Is that possible? Or likely?

1. No, I think they have been trying to swiftboat him |
|
This entire time and have been unable to. He seems pretty untouchable.

3. I'm sure they'll try but will probably fail. |
|
So far, the media likes Fitz because he's a-political and a straight shooter. Plus, look at this record on the war on terror.

5. Fitz is above the slime |
|
No doubt that the rovian reptilian strategy will continue. However, I think Fitz (based upon how clean he has run this thing) will stay above the slime and do the right thing. Many posts today on this, but add my opinion to the crowd that sees today's action as the tip of the iceberg.

As we used to say in the service. Rove will now be subdued and dubby will be the howdy doody that we all know and despise.

7. If Rove made a deal with Fitz, which is likely, he won't be doing anything |
|

further slime slinging, particularly against Fitzgerald.
Sure, there'll be an effort to spin this that Rove is somehow free of wrongdoing. Bush may even say he retains confidence in everyone's innocence.
But, assuming Rove isn't being indicted at this point, it's only because he turned on the others. They'll put 2+2 together, and we won't be seeing Old Turd Blossom again, except as he walks in and out, and in and out again of the US Court House to testify against the rest of the Bush-Cheney gang.
Don't worry. He'll get his in the end. B-)

"under investigation" i'm not sure he would risk an attack. It could be that no one will trust each other @ the WH.

Tweety this a.m. mentioned the race and political aspects of the GJ. His guest (I forget who) mentioned that GJ's tend to be very fair-minded.

He hasn't provided any ammunition to have his career assaulted the way Starr's was.
