...they have both plead guilty on Monday and Bush could have pardoned them both on Tuesday? Could that have happened? Does anyone know?

4. True but 20's would make him not only lame, but caponized
Also 20's is the "Impeachable Zone."

The Congressional support he needs to stay in office would be jumping ship and would be able to use phrases like 'Rule of Law' to convince the folks back in the districts.

the damage done to the republican party by such a move would be tremendous , especially with congressional elections only a year away.

They don't have to be indicted or convicted to be pardoned.
