David Gergen Says bu$h Is In A World Of Shit Whatever Happens |
|
Sounds like he thinks rOVER's continuing investigation will keep the WH "under a dark cloud." Gergen says a trial would lengthen and strengthen problems for bu$hCo, and I think I like that idea. Greenfield seems to be somewhat a defender of bu$hCo, but he's tantative. Says trial will be an investigation of the path to W-ar (Gergen said this too).

1. Well, I am all for getting it on record that BushCo lied |
|
Once we have that...then we can have many other trials.

Some legal analyst (sorry missed the blurb on who he is) was saying, "After 9/11 they decided it was better to assume the worst case senario - If someone says Saddam *might* have WMD's, we are going to assume he does."

6. They thought that way BEFORE 911, several were Team B |
|
members or advocates in the 1970's.
Team B was created to provide an alternative to the wishy-washy results of careful intelligence analysis. Team B made the same worst case assumptions. The idea they had boiled down to if someone can imagine a scenario it must be considered as though it was real.
It was a tremendous intelligence disaster.

12. But it's why they DID 9-11 so that the US public would buy it too. |

3. I just keep thinking and knowing that |

if the Democrats were in power and all this BS was happening the media would be singing a different song.Instead of talking about indictments they would have been talking about impeachment months ago..

5. Continuing investigation is ALWAYS a continuation of the nightmare. |

I've never been through a political one, but endured 2 that were Gov't investigations of 2 different companies.
Believe me, the one thing you want most in the world is for the damn subpoenas and questions to STOP! Say what you want, demand whatever info you wnat, then just punish if you have to, but get it over with! It really is like ongoing torture!!!

8. I agree with Gergen. This will continue the investigation of the lies |
|
that led us to war, much like the Diebold and ES and S voting lies that 'elected' B* this second time around. People are starting to wake up and end their stage of denial, and perhaps they'ld go back to sleep if Rove was indicted today, and the investigation ended. This will continue the debate, and the longer the investigation, the more questions concerning intent behind the war will be raised, and greater suspicion will be planted in U.S. citizens. Not a pretty thought that thousands have died for lies, but it's the truth.

10. The WH wanted this buried. |

If the rumors are true (which is far from certain), this thing is FAR from buried.

surprisingly straight forward on this issue. I think that he is the type of republican that democrats can respect, even though we may disagree on many issues. He can be trusted to find rats like those in the VP's office a threat to democracy.
