Even if Rove isn't indicted today, we still a line of victories |
|
This week has been one of the best in ages for us:
1. Miers withdrew her nomination (cronyism shot down in this case)
2. Bush caved in on trying to repeal Davis-Bacon and suspending wages for New Orleans reconstruction
3. Noe has been indicted in coingate
4. And, of course, we will still get Scooter Libby. So it's not like NO ONE has gotten indicted.
Also, if Rove is not indicted, it means that he won't be indicted TODAY. Fitzgerald will likely extend the Grand Jury and go into the Niger Uranium Forgeries. This is analogous to when Ken Starr went from the Paula Jones case to the going after Clinton for Monica. The Jones case appeared to be the major problem for Clinton but it was something else that they impeached him for. However, unlike Monica, exaggerating Intelliegence Reports is a serious problemm

2. this morning I heard Gergen make a good point....... |
|
....he said that this investigation is not like Watergate since there was no underlying crime discovered. He also said it is not like Iran Contra for the same reason. But he also pointed out that with all the bad news for Bush recently, when you put all of this stuff together, it does make the situation much worse!
