BUSH SAID HE'D FIRE ANYONE FOR LEAKING, THAT NOBODY
BUSH THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF SAID HE'D FIRE ANYONE FOR LEAKING, THAT NOBODY WAS INVOLVED...

Asked in June 2004 if he'd stand by his pledge to fire anyone found to have leaked, Bush replied "yes."

When the White House was asked specifically whether Karl Rove, Elliot Abrams or Lewis Libby told any reporter that Valerie Plame worked for the CIA, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said: "Those individuals -- I talked -- I spoke with those individuals, as I pointed out, and those individuals assured me they were not involved in this. And that's where it stands."

"I don't know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information. If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it, and we'll take the appropriate action."

"The President has set high standards, the highest of standards for people in his administration. He's made it very clear to people in his administration that he expects them to adhere to the highest standards of conduct. If anyone in this administration was involved in it, they would no longer be in this administration."

The Kos just remids us of the following:

BUSH THE CANDIDATE PROMISED TO UPHOLD THE HONOR AND INTEGRITY AT THE WHITE HOUSE...

"I will swear to uphold the laws of the land. But I will also swear to uphold the honor and the integrity of the office to which I have been elected, so help me God," said then-Governor George Bush

"Americans are tired of investigations and scandal, and the best way to get rid of them is to elect a new president who will bring a new administration, who will restore honor and dignity to the White House."

"Americans want to be assured that the next administration will bring honor and dignity to the White House."

4. They'll just parse the language. He'll insist Rove
didn't leak...he was just talking to a reporter. Not leaking.

5. & Libby
can Bush deny all knowledge of this leak - I don't think so. Also, phase 11 of the case will haul in more, including Bush himself

6. Bush Lied

What bothers me most is that this White House
has shown zero credibility or ethics when it comes
to this criminal investigation.

A serious crime was commited and instead
of trying to help catch the crooks... they have
conspired to confuse the issue, downplay its importance,
deflect the blame, and all sorts of shady nonsense.

There does not seem to be one person of
character in the White House who is willing
to stand up for justice and what is right.
It's a pack of crooks and cronies...
and I am ashamed and sorry that
this is what our country has come to.

7. People elect these schmucks
They need to be cleaned out. I wonder what happened to the 22 indictments.

8. Sounds like he's got a lot of people he needs to fire
Libby didn't just do this by himself. The indictment already states that he got stuff from Cheney and from "Official A".

Libby was doing what he was told when he outed that agent. This case still has a long way left to go.

In the federal racketeering case against Gov Ryan, the Gov was the sixty-sixth person indicted in the case!

So like I say -- Bush may end up needing to fire his whole damn administration -- including himself!
