Why Libby, and why him only? |
|
flash back to Spiro Agnew and Watergate... they first had to get rid fo the VEEP, before they went after nixon... this is the same kind of a scneario folks...
Now the quesiton is not who is going to be the VEEPs Chief of Staff... but who will be the next Prseident? They are working now, I am betting, the powers that be, on a care cater government. This is the only way to avoid a constitutional crisis getting out of hand
In other words, this is a HUGE deal and weclome to Watergate II... strap in... the ride is about to get very bumpy.

He is renting an office space in DC apparently so that should show something. And I think there was new information given this week too.

2. Nobody has said, "Only Libby." |
|
Nobody.
They've only said, Libby but probably not Rove. They haven't said a peep about anybody else, positive or negative.

12. Fitzgerald is the only one who knows what charges he will bring. |
|
Sorry, but no one (AAR included) knows anything until the information is made public.

getting Cheney.
Whether it goes to Bush, who knows.
But I'd be satisfied with removing the Cheney team.

Libby's indictment is the only one being announced TODAY, but the investigation is not being closed. So, it's not the end of the story.

in regard to wrongdoing, you should not assume anything. He will get you and be smart about it.

and they put Jeb in, they win.
Someone needs to start busting Jeb NOW.

9. Actually the Agnew case wasn't related to Watergate |
|
it was a seperate investigation of his taking bribes to award contracts when he was Governor of Md and continued to accept payments as VP.
But your point is well taken, obviously if the Chief of Staff knew, then it is likely Cheney knew or was the leaker. Also, how far up does it go?

which means if they go directly after bush you are taking Hastert, if they go first after chenney you can appoint someobdy who is NOT in the chain of succession and make sure it is a capable person. Kind of softeting the blow

11. Who is "they" in the Nixon scenario? |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 11:38 AM by LoZoccolo
It was some reporters who started the attack on Nixon, and they didn't even really know it would end up there. The two things are unconnected and not coordinated by the same people, much less planned in sequence for a strategic advantage.

resigned after pleading no contest to tax evasion charges, which stemmed from taking brides while governor of Maryland. It had nothing to do with Watergate, although Agnew always felt that it had been Nixon who had pushed the case against him to divert attention away from the watergate scandal.

but I am talking here of a the procedure in order to avoid a real bad constitutional crisis... they need to remove the Veep before they remove the Pres... unless you want the succesion chain to come into play and you can say President Hastert
