30. I think since Cheney gave him Plame's identity
Cheney will HAVE to be called to testify. Under oath and EVERYTHING. And maybe Fitz has a little something he isn't letting out until Dick perjures himself...

14. We don't have any indication that "Libby squeeled on Cheney!!!"
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 12:20 PM by janeaustin
The NY Times report the other night said that the information was on a hard drive that Libby had tried to scrub, but that Fitzgerald's people were able to recover.

Sounds to me like Libby continued to cover for Cheney, even to the extent of destroying evidence.

20. That is not a crime, in itself.
They were both cleared to discuss such classified info.
Making that info public would be a crime. If Cheney discussed making the info public with Scoot, that would be a crime (a conspiracy)

26. So does this mean Bush has to fire Cheney?
He won't of course, but if he holds himself to his pledge to fire anyone involved in the leak wouldn't that mean he has to fire Ol' Dick?

27. It means that Cheney can testify in a Criminal Court and either
come clean and then go to jail or he can lie and see if he can wriggle out it!!! and being the idiot he is he's going try to wriggle out of it!!!

28. Cheney will resign to "restore honor and dignity to the White House"
It would never reach the point of him being "fired." The man has one foot in the grave, it's obvious. For his health, and I'm sure his doctor has told him this, he needs to get away from the vortex of this scandal as much as he possibly can. The White House will try to turn him into a sympathetic figure, that the "partisan witch hunt" is taking a toll on this man who already has suffered several heart attacks. Well, boo hoo hoo. Apparently Republicans aren't made of such strong stuff as Democrats are. Clinton never flinched for one moment under a tsunami of a partisan witch hunt.

Makes me laugh when people try to scrub info off their computers. Forensic technology is way ahead of these bumbleheads.

33. See, that would be the honorable thing to do at this point, but I don't
see him doing it. I think he'll have to be dragged kicking and screaming out of that office.

Then again, I've been wrong before and will be again, I'm sure. I hope you're right. A "partisan witch-hunt" indeed. I wish them luck with that one.

35. As much as I want this to be true
I'm a little skeptical. I would think that Libby would go quietly and wait it out till his pardon in '08.
