The most beautiful things about FITZMAS are:
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 12:45 PM by mzmolly
1. Democrats are finally saying in a unified manner "BUSH LIED." Reid issued a statement today saying the WH manufactured the case for war (paraphrased.) Kerry said yesterday he was mislead and has regrets. Conyers has also issued like statements for quite some time.

2. The media is FINALLY questioning the "case for war" in an open manner.

This is not good for the Bushista folks, but it's a beautiful day for the country. And, it's only the beginning.

:patriot:

I'll admit to shedding tears of joy.

Edited for grammar, sheesh.

* Feel free to add your own "beautiful things" ;)

2. On the Democratic Party's website...

A five-count indictment against I. Lewis Libby: one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury and two counts of making false statements in the investigation into manipulating intelligence on Iraq, orchestrating efforts to smear opponents of the war and conspiring to cover it up.

10. Wonderful! Reid's statement here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=5205470&mesg_id=5205470

Dems are coming together, the media is questioning Bush, DUers have been vindicated - it's all good!

18. I have discussed the entire case
for a couple of weeks over here, with family but also with a german coworker. We discussed fascism und das dritte reich and how every empire has eventually collapsed once the rulers thought they could act without accountability.

Valerie Plame hadn't really surfaced here before today.
In the 7 PM evening news (GMT+1), they first brought the indictment. Then later on in, they brought a live report about Libby resigning.

Even though most sensible people on the planet agreed the case for war was a lie before it started, I think over here too people will be stunned by the depth of the corruption.

I am overjoyed but at the same time fear the endgame.

19. No need to fear, the media is finally doing their job b/c Bush can run
for office in 3 years.

As an American I can tell you that the tide is turning against this dangerous "regime" and things will get better.

Thanks for your concern and for sharing your thoughts. Sometimes we forget that the rest of the world lives in fear of this President as well.

23. do you not fear the smoking rabbit
in the evil one's hat? I do, but I should add that I'm in the LIHOP category.

And whatever stunt they may pull, once the real majority is educated, I think Bush*co will lose the true endgame.

And thanks for the hug. I've been pretty alone over here in the sense that most people decided early on what to think of a guy calling us old europe. Most people have tuned out, and I did too for a while after Selection 2004.

26. I'm a LIHOP-er too, but I really sense the tide has turned to the point
that they are under too much scrutiny to pull a LIHOP again.

I think is the possible ramifications of a vindictive Bush administration. Think 9/11 only worse.

dritte : third.

It is a reference to the reign of Hitler in Nazi-Germany.

12. I think of today as St. Fitzolaus Day, actually.
For those of you of European descent will know. Our family celebrated St. Niklaus day in early December. That got you a nice breakfast and a small gift. Today is St. Fitzlaus Day.. the precursor to the biggie.. Fitzmas.
